Secure Phrase Generator
Like one of the AgileBits employees mentioned in another post on security questions, the practice of security questions online isn't going away and we would have to continue to deal with them. While trying to do that on a banking account page, I realized the current process of generating random answers, pasting them on the website, and then saving them as a custom field in 1P is not enjoyable. Moreover I don't like to call these answers a password. Its kinda awkward to call these answers passwords, and that also results in confusion with the actual password which should be only one for a given login item.
Hence I propose that 1P would create another generator - call it Secure Phrase Generator or something else other than password generator, and have the following features:
- generate 3 phrases/answers (based on the same recipe/criteria) for a single invocation, as generally its always more than 1 answer you need to provide.
- automatically add them to current website/login item (if one exists already)
- special password-like treatment for them (concealed by default etc)
That would make 1P make my life even easier.
Thank you.

Something that can be easily implemented is a password generator button next to the custom fields, so I don't have to go around in generating and copy/pasting it. That would make it easier than current setup. Thanks.

Hi @raamana
Thanks so much for letting us know that you're interested in something like this! You're right, security questions aren't going anywhere, and it's a good idea to have a strategy for dealing with them.
It turns out that I can make your life easier right now! When creating your custom fields for security questions, you can change the field type to 'password'. Then, not only will you have the handy little icon to generate random passwords available, but the field will also be hidden when you have the 'Conceal Passwords' option selected in the View menu.
(Please note, that you will need to have some text in the field before you can change the field type.)
I hope this helps, but we're here if you have any further questions or concerns!

Thanks Meghan, thats helpful. But my request to help us save us time, # clicks and typing, by including a section for security questions already and defining the answer to be secured text or password (if it were a login item, we can have this as a preference if you don't want to make it for everyone).
I would prefer to have something as shown (label containing the questions and text containing answers- just in one line). Looking forward to see this change happen.
