Adding 1Password to new MacBook from iMac

Using iPassword v. 4.4.1 on a iMac and would like to add the same info to a new MacBook Pro. iMac 1Password backs up to iCloud.
Using the same iCloud account on the MacBook 1Password tells me, during initial setup, that no 1Password info is found on iCloud.
iCloud on the iMac has "Documents & Data" checked in the Preferences.
Any assistance appreciated.

    Hi @RanchHQ,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble getting 1Password configured with iCloud syncing on your new MacBook Pro.

Using the same iCloud account on the MacBook 1Password tells me, during initial setup, that no 1Password info is found on iCloud.

What did you do after getting stuck at that point?

iCloud on the iMac has "Documents & Data" checked in the Preferences.

Do you also have it enabled in iCloud preferences on your MacBook Pro?

And when you click on its Options… do you see 1Password mini listed and enabled there?

If that looks okay and no data you want to keep is saved in 1Password on your MacBook Pro yet, then you can try starting over there and see if it picks up your 1Password data in iCloud this time around.

Please let us know how that goes and if you need more assistance; we're here to help! :)

I have been thinking and, since this MacBook will be used exclusively for work, why would I not simply open a new, second 1Password Account?

    Hi @RanchHQ,

You can certainly set 1Password up as a new user and store only your work data. Our User Guide can take you through that process. If you have any questions, we're here for you! :)

    Hi @RanchHQ,

I have separate personal and work-related user accounts on one of my Macs, each with their own 1Password databases. That works quite well for me, no pun intended. :)

Note that to use iCloud Sync for syncing/sharing 1Password data, each account/device must be signed in with the same Apple ID for iCloud services. Since OS X supports multiple accounts they might each prefer to use different Apple IDs for iCloud (e.g. one account and Apple ID for "home" and another for "work"). But iOS essentially only supports one user account, limited to choosing/using a single Apple ID for iCloud.
