null vault problem [Resolved]
Hi folks - I have recently upgraded from 10.6.8 with 1 Password 3 to a newer Mac Book Pro running 10.9.4. This evening I tried to upgrade from 1P3 to 1P4, uninstalling the 1P3 Extension as directed and installing the 1P4 extension. I now have the key icon alongside the address box, but when I click on it I get (null) Vault. Putting in my master password brings up - There is no vault, Please open 1 Password app - which is already open. I see this is a frequent problem on the forum but cannot find a definitive solution. Can anyone help pls?

When you upgraded how, and from where, did you import your 1P3 data? 1P4 normally automatically finds your old 1P3 data. If you think it didn't have a look at this part of the user guide about getting started again on a new computer and see if it helps.
Did you use any other 1P4 version (beta or trial) before you purchased it? Did you purchase from the Mac app store or direct from AgileBits? Did you reboot your machine after installing 1P4?

Hi Stephen - thx for coming back on this. I upgraded because 1P3 was remaining open all day and the pane to reset the closing time was greyed out. I upgraded direct from AgileBits so I assumed 1P4 would find my data automatically. GETTING STARTED ON A NEW COMPUTER doesn't help because I don't get the opening screen with the options I AM NEW or I HAVE USED BEFORE. I haven't used any other version of 1P4 in this process and I have restarted the browser - SAFARI - a couple of times but not done a full reboot.

I suggest re-installing 1P4 and rebooting for good measure to see if that helps. If things are in tangle there is a knowledge base article here on how to start over.
If it still doesn't work do please post back and someone more expert than I will be along soon to help.

Somewhat to my embarrassment, when my expert friend clicked on 1P4 this afternoon, it opened perfectly, accepted my master password and seems to work fine, although I have only tested it on a few of my stored passwords. We have concluded that when I couldn't open 1P4 properly last night, I then went to the forum and posted my query. This morning I replied to your post but without further trying 1P4 at that time. In the interim, it seems to have found all the 1P3 data - maybe I didn't wait long enough at the time. All that remains now is to get to grips with the increased functionality...
Thank you for your help and support.

Hi @Fraser,
I'm so glad to hear that you're up and running! It's a bit odd that 1Password took a while to find your data and open properly. If you notice any other weird behaviour, please let us know and we'll help to straighten things out. Since this issue is nicely sorted out now, I'll close this thread, but if you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to open a new thread, or email us directly at support@agilebits.com - we're here for you. :)
