can't add multiple login fields for websites

I use 1 Password on my macbook pro and my iPhone 5c. It works well on my mac and mostly well on my iPhone. My problem is with establishing a login for a mobile banking site on my iPhone. I cannot manually add the additional field required for logging in. The site uses:
- a userid
- a PIN
- a password
I can make it work on my mac by using the mobile banking URL in Safari but the sync'd login doesn't work on my iPhone. I've tried all sorts of combinations for setting this up but to no avail. On the iPhone, it seems to enter the login data into the wrong fields prompting a login failure. I've been using 1browser.

Please advise on whether or not I should expect 1Password to work on my iPhone with multiple login fields.

    Hi @Miichael‌

Thanks so much for your support of 1Password! Since you have 1Password on your Mac as well, let's try adding the necessary fields by manually saving a new Login on your Mac, but using the mobile version of the site, if possible:

    • Edit the login that you currently have for this website by appending an "Old" to the title - just so you can tell them apart.
    • Visit the site and fill in the fields you want filled. Do NOT click the login button.
    • Click the 1Password extension, and unlock it if necessary.
    • Click the gear icon (or vault icon if multiple vaults are enabled) in the upper right corner.
    • Select Save new login.
    • Give the entry a unique and identifiable title.
    • Click Save.
    • Revisit the site and see if 1Password fills in the site correctly.

Saving a Login in this manner allows 1Password to learn all the fields that it needs to fill. If this doesn't work, could you please send along the site's URL so we can do some testing here?

Hi Megan. Thanks for your response. I tried what you suggested using the mobile version of the website on my mac. It worked well on my mac but when I tried it on my iPhone it failed. It appears to be entering the password and attempting to logon without entering the username/access number and so the website rejects the logon. Its message is "Please enter your Card/Access Number, as it is required.".
    The website is: https://ibanking.banksa.com.au/mbank/
For reference, the website for use by computers is: https://ibanking.banksa.com.au/ibank/loginPage.action

    Hi @Miichael‌

Thanks so much for getting back to me with the URL. I'm seeing the same thing as you are: 1Password is filling in the security number and the internet password on iOS, but it is missing the Access Number and the Issue Number. I've filed a report with our developers to see if we can't improve 1Password's behaviour here. I apologize for the inconvenience - we'll do what we can to get this fixed as soon as possible!

    Any feedback from your developers?

  • Hi @Miichael,

Nothing more to report at this time. We've filed a bug report for this issue, and our developers will take a look as soon as they're able to.

Will the developers respond to this post once they have an opportunity to have a look at the problem?

    Hi @Miichael‌

I've added a request to the issue in our internal tracker to update this thread when progress has been made. With the release of iOS 8 and the imminent release of Yosemite, there's a lot going on for our developers right now, but we'll be sure this issue is addressed just as soon as possible.

Thanks for checking in on us!

The latest iOS 5.2 update hasn't corrected this problem. Any idea if there are plan to fix it or is not possible.

    Hi @Miichael,

Our developers have been working on 1Password's filling a lot lately, but banks certainly don't make this process simple. Banks are notorious for having unique sign in pages, and introducing all sorts of security measures that end up making life complicated for password managers. Additionally, it's difficult to fully test these sites without a proper account, so it's not always easy to see where things are really getting tangled up.

We would really appreciate your help in testing our new filling scripts. So far, they've been doing a great job of filling difficult sites. If you're game, here's the plan:

First of all, we need to confirm how the release version of 1Password for Mac fills.

Now, we want to test to see if the new filling 'brain' in the betas is able to handle this page any better. (This new filling brain will be used for both Mac and iOS, so if the beta version of 1Password for Mac fills correctly, then we're one step closer to having it work on iOS as well!)

    • If you're using the webstore version of 1Password, you can enable beta builds in Preferences > Updates
    • You'll want to re-install the extension as well, just make sure you check the option to enable beta builds.
    • Use the Save a New Login Manually steps again to create a fresh Login using the beta versions of 1Password and the extension. Does this fill any better?

Once we know where things are working, and where they're not, we'll have a much better idea of how to teach 1Password to fill here.

    Megan,

Thanks for your reply and sorry for taking so long to respond. The manual login failed to work properly. After looking at the security number and password that were actually saved, they appeared to be something other than what I had entered, something random. After manually correcting these, the login from 1Password worked. This was all on my mac, which already works well. I tried crafting a mobile login, both from my iPhone and from my mac. Its not solved yet. I have managed to get a little further than previously, with the mobile login working on my mac completely correctly, albeit unnecessary, any partially on my iPhone. It fails to automatically load the security number, but as it doesn't submit the form, I can manually load this number each time and it then works.

Hope this helps your developers diagnose this problem.

    Michael.

    Megan,

In case it helps, here are the URLs for the bank, the first being for use on a larger screen and the second for use on a phone.

    https://ibanking.banksa.com.au/ibank/loginPage.action
    https://ibanking.banksa.com.au/mbank/#0

    Viewing the source may help.

    Thanks again,
    Michael.

  • Hi @Michael ,

Thanks for the URLs. I'll make sure the developers know and can test them.
