Cannot select my vault in Dropbox to sync

When I try to start syncing with Dropbox, it won't let me select my one vault in Dropbox. Says vault already exists on iPhone. Is there a work around? I'm running 1P Public Beta 4.6.BETA-24 (406024)

Solved my own problem. Disconnected from Dropbox entirely and re-established link. Solved the problem.

  • Hi @jdjansen,

Disconnected from Dropbox entirely and re-established link.

Can you explain how you've disconnected from Dropbox completely? By going to Dropbox.com and unlink 1Password?

    Within 1Password, I went Settings->Sync->Start Syncing->Sync with Dropbox->tapped 'i' button on my Drobox account->Stop Using Account.

Let men know if you need more followup.

  • Hi @jdjansen,

Thanks for letting me know. Hopefully, this won't happen again but if it does, please let us know. We did fix a related issue to this in beta 20, so it shouldn't happen again.

Thanks Mike. I remember that. It happened to me then too. I'm also running the public release version of 1P from the App Store. Possible wires get crossed by doing that?

    Hi @jdjansen,

Unless you're using iCloud, both apps are sandboxed from each other, so they shouldn't affect each other at all.

As far as we can tell, there was an issue where if Dropbox got disabled, its remote sync configuration wasn't removed properly. That's why you saw the grayed out option, it means that another sync has it enabled but it wasn't.

We just need to figure out why the Dropbox sync got disabled in the first place but so far, our testings haven't shown anything yet.

Yeah before today's two releases my Dropbox link hadn't severed for multiple consecutive OTA updates. The two releases today came so fast on top of each other that I'm not sure which one lost it.

If it happens again I'll send a log before I attempt to reconnect.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi @jdjansen,

Hmm, do you recall if you changed anything related to either Dropbox or 1Password around the time the Dropbox sync got disabled?

Did you change networks on the iPhone or anything that could explain why 1Password thinks Dropbox wasn't sync'ing?

The next time you see this problem, please don't try to fix anything. If you're familiar with Xcode, try to get some of the errors from the device's console and send us the diagnostic report to support+forum@agilebits.com with a link to this thread.

    Thanks!

To be honest I can't think of anything I did that was different or a change. Was on the same Network the entire time. I only have one vault. I had just prior used WatchTower on the Mac so a lot of login items had changed and immediately updated the vault file in Dropbox but that shouldn't have any effect.

I'll let you know if I think of anything.

  • Please do, we're having a hard time reproducing this. It doesn't seem to affect everybody, just a small % so far.
