I restored my iPhone from a backup and now iCloud syncing of my 1Password vault between OS X and iOS no longer works. Both devices are signed into the same iCloud account, I changed sync methods to Dropbox, which worked, then back to iCloud and the syncing stopped working again. When reenabling iCloud syncing on the iPhone, it sees an existing vault and merges it, which ends up being the old information from the iPhone. Apparently there is another vault out there used by the iPhone, as if in another iCloud account. How can I force 1Password to use the proper one?

    Hi @slprice,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having difficulties keeping things synced up. First off, I would just like to caution you, we don't generally recommend switching back and forth between sync services. There's a potential for things to get tangled up and more complicated than they need to be. If you haven't been beta testing iOS 8 or OS X Yosemite on any of your devices, we should be able to get iCloud working. Let's reset sync:

    • On your iOS devices, open 1Password 4 for iOS, tap Settings > Sync > Sync Service and tap 'Disable Sync’.

    • On the Mac, open 1Password 4 for Mac, and click the 1Password menu, then Preferences. Click Sync, and click Change syncing.

    • Check the box to remove the data from iCloud and confirm that you want to disable sync.

    • Remove iCloud Data from your iOS device, if it exists: http://learn2.agilebits.com/1Password4/iOS/Tutorials/ios-reset-data.html

    • Restart the Mac and iOS devices.

    • On the Mac, go back to the Sync preferences, and enable iCloud.

    • Wait about 20 minutes to give iCloud time to run the initial sync to all devices.

    • Go back into the iOS app and re-enable iCloud sync. It should work this time.
