Whole Classroom Can Read Master Passwords...

Hello agilebits and friends.

I teach a few graduate classes here in NYC, part of my curriculum includes developing and using mobile tools. I am lucky to have a classroom that allows the entire class to share their iphone and ipad screens on the projector. I am constantly advocating for 1password.

I can not however figure out a way to disable the character preview when entering the master password, we NEED all dots - not the dot, dot, letter display. Because of this - when I (or my students) have to use iPassword while out screens are being shared - the whole room can see the master password.

Please help.

  • Hi @choppingblock‌,

Unfortunately, that is not something we can override. Password fields on iOS use Secure Input, and Apple's Secure Input API briefly shows the character before concealing it. This is the same in, say, an App Store password field when purchasing something. It is a system-wide thing and built into iOS, and there is no way to change it.
