Wi-Fi sync: 1Password 4 for Mac 1Password 3 for iOS [Resolved: upgrade to 1Password 5 for iOS]
I run OSX 10.9.5 on 2008 Macbook Pro & IOS 8.0 on iPhone 6 & have PW1 version 4.4.1. I attempt to wifi sync and I am told to have PW1 on both devices open and am given secret codes to enter on both. However, neither device has a place to enter the secret codes. This is not a new development in that I experience the same problem on earlier version of OSX and with my iPhone 4s which was never updated to IOS 8.0
What might I be doing wrong and/or how am I to remedy this situation?

Generally issues like this are caused by a configuration problem with your network. Can you please try using an ad hoc network to see if you are able to successfully sync that way?

Did as instructed. Both devices successfully linked to the ad hoc. However same results as previously described - no place to enter code.

Are you running 1Password 5.0.1 on your iOS device?

I am running 4.4.1 (331006) Mac app store - this is what is stated in the "About PW1".

That would be the Mac version, I'm looking for the iOS version. You can reference this image:

Thanks so much for clarifying your iOS version number. This makes a lot more sense now. Unfortunately, there have been some big changes to Wi-Fi sync between 1Password version 3 and 1Password version 4. Just like everything else in 1Password 4, our developers completely re-wrote Wi-Fi sync, so it is not possible to sync via Wi-Fi between 1Password 3 for iOS and 1Password 4 for Mac.
If you're on iOS 8, I recommend updating to 1Password 5 for iOS. It's a free download, with some extra features available via in-app purchase. The free version includes all of the core features, including the ability to create as many Logins, Credit Cards, Identities and Secure Notes as you would like, and sync. Wi-Fi will work a lot better for you between 1Password 4 for Mac and 1Password 5 for iOS. :)

Thx, so from my iPhone, how do I update it. I have looked everywhere and there seems to be no link for updating the software on the phone...

OK, I think I've FINALLY got it working! Final questions (I hope - as I'm sure you hope as well)...
I see the new icon on iPhone and the contents appear to be the same; should I simply delete the old icon?
How do I set up iPhone to get either automatic updates or notifications of available updates?0 -
I'm so glad to hear that you've got it figured out! 1Password 5 for iOS is a new app, so it will show up as a separate icon from 1Password 3. Once you are sure that your data is safely stored in 1Password 5 for iOS (or at least that a complete copy of your data is stored in 1Password 4 for Mac) you can remove 1Password 3 for iOS.
How do I set up iPhone to get either automatic updates or notifications of available updates?
Automatic updates can be set in Settings.app > iTunes and App Store. Scroll to the 'Updates' tab and make sure that it is set to on. The reason that you did not see an 'update' from 1Password 3 for iOS to 1Password 4 for iOS is that 1Password 4 for iOS was released as a separate app. We did our best to notify users of 1Password 3 for iOS that there was a new version, but those little pop-up screens are so easily dismissed. :)
I hope that 1Password 5 behaves perfectly for you from now on, but if you do have questions, please don't hesitate to ask - we're here to help!

OK, I think I have it squared away. Got newest version on both devices and both seem to be set to auto update. Thanks to all who helped on this matter!
