Wi-Fi Sync with 1Password iOS 5.1 and 1Password 5 Yosemite [Improved in 5.0.2 b3 update]
I am unable to sync using Wi-Fi. My Mac does not show up on the Wi-Fi Sync window in iOS. Tapping "Refresh List" doesn't fix it.

A few things:
- Are you using a firewall or VPN on the Mac that might interfere with the sync?
- Try rebooting both the iOS devices and Mac at the same time to see if this will fix it, you may have to do this a few times.
At the moment, we're tracking a few bugs in iOS 8 and Yosemite itself that is preventing the sync from working properly, so that's why I'm asking to reboot because that have fixed it for many users.

I have the same problem. Also a reboot doesn't help.

It's not helping me either. And I don't have any firewall or VPN turned on with the iMac.

Hi guys,
Can you tell me which router you're using? Some Netgear routers were reported to require a reboot to fix this as well but that might not be the cause for you.
If you're still seeing this after rebooting your router, can you email us your diagnostic report from the Mac app to support+forum@agilebits.com with a link to this thread.
Thanks!

I have a current generation AirPort Time Capsule router. I'll send a report shortly.

I sent it shortly after my last post.

I also sent a report last saturday but I'm still waiting for an answer.

With the 5.0.BETA-3 the sync works!

Not for me. I'm running 5.0.1 now.

Hi guys,
@Philnie, that's great news, thanks for letting us know.
@Michael Shingledecker, I just reviewed your report. It looks like every time 1Password mini tries to establish the Wi-Fi server, it gets a response back saying that another connection exists and then it shuts itself down.
Can you tell me a few things:
- Is there only one Mac running 1Password 5 in your Wi-Fi network?
- Was the primary vault unlocked at the time in your Mac app when you try to establish the sync with your iOS devices?
Try this: open the main 1Password app, go to Help Menu > Troubleshooting > Restart 1Password mini, and then unlock the primary vault. See if it shows up in the iOS app.

@MikeT, yes to question 1; yes to question 2. I only have a primary vault. I also installed the extension from Safari and reinstalled it. Still doesn't work.

@MikeT, I was looking at the log and noticed that yesterday the wi-fi server was getting the response you described but then later on it looks like it was making a connection. I am not an expert in this area at all so this could mean nothing:

When it did finally start the server, try killing 1Password app in the background on the iOS device, and see if it picks up the server at all.

I just tried that and it is still not picking it up. Neither my iPad or iPhone are picking it up.

Ok, we'll need to see the diagnostic report from the iOS apps then. Can you email your iOS diagnostic reports to support+forum@agilebits.com with a link to this thread.
Thanks!

I just sent the report for my iPad Air.
I turned on iCloud sync earlier today so I could at least sync between my iPad and iPhone. I don't have the App Store version for my Mac which means I can't use iCloud sync.

Thanks for the report. Unfortunately by switching to the iCloud sync, it wiped out the logs that I need to see what's going on.
I can switch you over to the Mac App Store if you want to use iCloud sync instead. Let me follow up with you in the email and we'll see what we can do for you.

Wi-Fi syncing has stopped working for me as well - Yosemite, Mac v 5.0.2 beta 1, iOS v 5.1.1, iOS 8.0.2. I'll try updating to iOS 8.1 and see if that helps.
Update: Sync working again after update to iOS 8.1!

I think we figured out what the problem is. Your computer name is long and it helped exceeded the max character limit by a dozen.
Can you rename your computer name to something shorter than 25 characters, like "M Shingledeckers iMac". You can do this in System Preferences > Sharing.
Once you do this, reboot your Mac, and see if it will show up now.

@MikeT, after you posted this a new beta of 1Password 5 came out with a fix for the long computer name. I can confirm it now works! Thanks for your assistance in tracking this down.
I have emailed both you and the generic tech support address about moving to the WebStore version of 1P as I rather prefer to sync via iCloud. I have not heard back from anyone yet on this.

That's super great to hear. I'm glad to hear we're making progress on this.
As for the email, we're currently going through a massive backlog of folks wanting the MAS copy to use iCloud sync. This is a manual and time-consuming process because there's no way to automatically give everybody a free copy at the MAS. We're clearing the backlog as fast as humanly possible but it may take several days for you to get a response from us. I do apologize for this but we'll make things right.

Thanks @MikeT, I'm sure you're overwhelmed. Just wanted to make sure nobody is forgotten! :)
You guys produce a great product!

Cheers Michael, thanks for the kudos, so great to hear that things are back up and running for you.
