Update 1Password4 to 1Password5 [1Password 5 is free for all v4 customers and shows up for Yosemite]

5 only works with Yosemite, so that is probably why. I only got the AppStore Update when I Upgraded to Yosemite. Also please be aware that the WebStore version will NOT sync with iCloud. This is more of an Apple Limitation and the CloudKit Development Stack.

Hi @loscamos,
Scooter133 is correct in everything he said.
1Password 5 is a free direct update for all 1Password 4 customers and it'd only show up once you update to Yosemite. Prior to that, your updates will remain restricted to 1Password 4 version since that's compatible with your OS X version.
The moment you update to Yosemite, 1Password 5 will show up via the app's updater for you.

Since I can not sue anymore iCloud, did you fix this problem with 1Password 5. Because it's really annoying https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/23429/sync-problem-built-in-field-section-label-changes-not-retained-resolved-by-using-icloud-syncing#latest

I see in the release notes here -- https://app-updates.agilebits.com/product_history/OPM4 -- that version 5 includes an "All new local WiFi sync." Where can I find more information on this? Does this feature allow Macs to sync with each other over a local network, as opposed to the previous Wi-Fi sync that could only sync an iOS device with a single Mac?

Hi @loscamos
I'll remind our developers that you're keen to see a solution here! Thanks for keeping us on our toes.

You're right - Wi-Fi sync has gotten a bit of a super-charge in 1Password 5. At this time, it is still Mac to iOS, but we've added attachment sync and it is now an automatic instead of a manual process.
We have more improvements in mind to make this feature even more powerful - I'll let the devs know that you're keen on Mac to Mac sync too! :)

I have 1Password 5. I downloaded the web version and I was on Yosemite beta. Now I am on the new public Yosemite and I still have 1Password 5 but it doesn't have iCloud sync. Do I have to repurchase the Mac App Store version even though I have purchased 1Password in the past? I have the iOS version as well. Thanks!

Hi @andreww88,
The short version is that the web store version of 1Password 5 for Mac can no longer use iCloud sync. Please be sure to read the complete details here, though:
Web Store and iCloud FAQ
There you will find not only an explanation of what has changed but also some different options for resolution.
If we can be of further assistance, please let us know. We are always here to help!

Thanks, @Megan , I'm super keen on Mac-to-Mac LAN sync!

@Megan It's more like that I can not use a solution to sync my devices. Because if I use dropbox on my iMac Macbook and iPad I will come out with a lot of custom field removed and conflict in almost all my password. Moreover it's a primary problem and I'm waiting for a solution since long time. Last, but not least, how could you offer a dropbox only sync if it does not work perfectly. I do not have any other chance to sync my device, because there is no Mac-to-Mac sync.

@loscamos I'd say whatever issues you're currently experiencing aren't indicative of a underlying issue with Dropbox. To the best of my knowledge Dropbox is viewed as the most robust and versatile of the sync methods available. I'm not saying stuff can't go wrong every so often but you shouldn't be getting massive amounts of conflicts unless your devices are all really out of sync with each other.
Megan may offer up a few more elegant solutions but if I was experiencing what you are at the moment I'd probably pick one of my macs, ensure it has all the current data and then, knowing there is nothing unique in any of the other vaults I'd wipe both of the other devices and start afresh. They'd then pull a fresh copy of the vault from Dropbox and everything should be good.

@littlebobbytables it's not My problem. It is a known issue of dropbox. The custom Field are not retained in sync. I've tried with a new library and the problem still appear.

Hi guys,
Because if I use dropbox on my iMac Macbook and iPad I will come out with a lot of custom field removed and conflict in almost all my password.
It is a known issue of dropbox. The custom Field are not retained in sync
Conflicts shouldn’t be a problem with Dropbox, that’s not a known issue.
The ordering and sorting of custom fields is an issue with .agilekeychain format, not Dropbox itself. We’re working on switching over to OPvault format for both Dropbox and Folder Sync in the near future, that’ll retain the ordering of the custom field. Unfortunately, I don’t have a timeframe on this.
Please email us your license details at the support+webstoreicloud@agilebits.com address and we'll figure something out for you.

@MikeT If you read my conversation here https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/23429/sync-problem-built-in-field-section-label-changes-not-retained-resolved-by-using-icloud-syncing#latest this is a problem since 6 month ago. I understand that you don't have any estimate date, but 6 month is a long time. Here you can understand my problem.

I just upgraded from 4 > 5 and things have been working as usual. But just the other day I started to see "Trial expired. Click here to buy" on the 1Password menu. I originally started with 1Password 3. Do I need to purchase an upgrade?

Hi @mkubota1,
If you own a version 4 license, you can apply it to 1Password 5. If you only own a version 3 license, you will need to upgrade.
We have posted an announcement with details here:
Trial Expired notice in 1Password 5 for Mac?
Please let us know if you have any other questions. We're always happy to help!

I love the new update all. Thank you so much for the free upgrade! 1Password is still one of the best apps made for Mac with great leadership, developers, and support. I've been using 1Password since MacHeist in 2008!
