Fresh install of 1Password 5 on fresh install of Yosemite hanging

I've gone through a fresh install of Yosemite twice now (wiped drive, installing from bootable USB) and 1P 5 has had issues both times.

Here's a little rundown from a completely clean install:

  • installed an OS update, rebooted
  • installed dropbox
  • waited for 1P keychain to sync
  • installed 1P from mac app store
  • launched 1P and go through onboarding process allowing 1P mini to always run
  • 1P hangs
  • force-quit it but continue to get error popups from 1P mini process (I think)
  • reboot, 1P still won't run, hangs with popups
  • reboot
  • put .app bundle in trash
  • deleted 1P files in ~/Library/containers
  • reinstalled from MAS
  • go through onboarding again but DON'T let 1P mini always run
  • 1P still crashing but no popups

I don't know what else to try but slowly reading super long passwords off my iPhone is pretty tedious. :)

Any ideas?

    UPDATE:

I must have been subliminally trolling myself.
I accidentally made my bootable USB with the very_first_developer_preview instead of the freshly downloaded final build sitting next to it.

Life magically changed after fixing that.

Nothing to see here folks, move on.

  • Hi @kjs3,

I'm glad to hear you were able to get this fixed by using the latest version of Yosemite. :)

Please let us know if you have any other questions. We're always happy to help!
