Anyone why my iPad item box under Sync would be moving up and down? Also, it says it is sync'd and yet the item count is off by 2 wrt both my macbook pro AND my iPhone (the latter two agree with one another). so i actually have two issues...ipad item count is missing 2 items and the items line in the UI under sync bounces up and down lie it wants some attention. thx for any guidance.

  • Good afternoon @nealtex‌, thanks for taking the time to write in. We've seen a couple of reports of the the items line bouncing, but we haven't been able to reproduce here. I'll be sure it's in our bug tracker and we'll see what we can do to get it fixed up in a future release.

In terms of the item count being off, the best option we currently have is for you to reset your sync setup. Try these steps:

    1. Disable syncing on your iPad.
    2. Open 1Password on your Mac and unlock your vault.
    3. Open 1Password's preferences by choosing 1Password > Preferences... from the menu bar
    4. Click on the 'Sync' tab
    5. Click the 'Change Syncing...' button
    6. On the sheet that appears check the 'Delete data from Dropbox' checkbox and then click the 'Disable Sync' button.

1Password will remove your synced data from Dropbox. Once it completes you should setup syncing on your Mac again and wait for the Dropbox app to finish uploading the new synced data. The last step will be to setup syncing on your iPad again. Your item counts should then match.

Let us know how that works out for you and if there's anything else we can do to help.

Just an added user seeing this movement, actually more like a 'twitch'. The "Items" line drops down several pixels at a rate of 11.5 per ten seconds. That's just a rough guess, I may be off by a few hundredths of a 'twitch'... LOL! I noticed it early last month but kept forgetting to complain... so little time, so many complaints... :p
1PW v.5.1.2 on iOS 8.1.2, iPhone 5 WiFi sync to iMac, OS 10.9.5.
Same version and iOS on my iPad, but the sync page isn't the same; but you already know that... B)

    Hi @xairbusdriver,

Thanks for letting us know you're also seeing that odd "twitch" movement on the sync screen. Is the sync working correctly for you otherwise?

The item count on the Sync screen will bounce when we redraw the Last Sync field if the Larger Text option in the iOS Accessibility settings is set larger than the default size. Can you confirm if that's the case on your device? You can check that in the Settings app under General > Accessibility > Larger Text. If the "Larger Accessibility Sizes" option is turned off, the default slider position is the very center (or if larger sizes are enabled, the default slider position is in the middle of the small and medium sizes). Do you have that set to be larger than default?

so little time, so many complaints... :p

I hope not all the complaints are about 1Password - but if they are, please let us know! :)

I noticed the twitch when I was bring my wife's installation up-to-date after her switch to an iPhone 6. She does have Zoom set to on. I didn't notice the twitch on my own iPhone, which isn't set to Zoom, but I hadn't made the connection between the screen setting and the twitching. Her syncing to Dropbox is working fine.

    Hi @hawkmoth,

The problem with the item count bouncing/twitching on the Sync screen in 1Password is related to the Larger Text setting in Accessibility. I don't think it's affected by the Zoom setting - or at least, I haven't been able to reproduce it on my device with just that setting. Are you referring to the Zoom setting in General > Accessibility, or the Zoom setting in Display & Brightness (available on iPhone 6 Plus)? If you disable Zoom, does that solve the twitching in 1Password?

@Drew_AG - I finally got a minute with my wife's iPhone 6 to check her settings. She is using the Zoom Setting in the Display & Brightness setting, but (and I did not realize this until now) she also has set the Text in the Display & Brightness setting to the second position from the right, i.e., next-to-largest. When I reset her text to be standard size, the twitching stopped in the sync menu. So what I observed on her phone was not a product of her choice of Zoomed. It was her choice to enlarge the text size.

I thought maybe you'd like to have that correction.

Thanks for checking & confirming that, @hawkmoth. Also, thanks for pointing out the Text Size setting in Display & Brightness - somehow I hadn't even noticed it was there! :) It looks like that setting is tied to the Larger Text setting in General > Accessibility, so a change to one makes the same change to the other.

Fortunately those settings only trigger a visual redraw glitch in 1Password, and nothing serious. But hopefully we'll be able to fix that soon!

Sorry to be so later in responding! I tend to forget ... something ... err...

Anyway, I wanted to confirm that the 'twitching', 'jumping' action I complained about is affected by the Text Size setting. Apparently, anything more than the middle (default?) setting causes this action. It's not exactly something AgileBits has any direct control over, I guess. BTW, if I remember what I forgot, I'll get back to you! 8-)

  • H @xairbusdriver ,

We are currently doing a lot of work in improving 1Password at various text sizes. You will see improvements soon, including the Sync row in the Settings that you mentioned.
