1PW on iPad 2

1PW frequently freezes when I launch it on my iPad2. It is the only app I noticed doing this. 1PW will not exit or minimize at this point, I have to shut the App down then it will usually start up being OK. On my iMac and my iPhone no problems

I too have an iPad 2 and find this app to be just about unusable since upgrading to iOS 8

It hangs up, website logins that used to work no longer do. I have sent crash reports, emailed support and am basically ready to toss the app out, despite paying for the pro version.

Response time is horrible, you name it, the app is just totally worthless.

Come on guys, fix the issues. You obviously have not done a thorough job of testing!

  • @boccep‌ I'm terribly sorry for the trouble you're seeing on your iPad 2 and for the lackluster response times you're receiving to your email questions. We've been inundated with support questions since the launch of 1Password 5 for both Mac and iOS and it's taking us a while to catch up. We are doing our best, though, and we appreciate your patience.

    • Can you give me some more details about when 1Password hangs up? Does it hang at the lock screen? While you're editing items? Elsewhere?
    • The websites that you're having trouble with, they worked fine before the iOS 8 update? Has anything changed on the sites themselves? Are you accessing them in 1Browser or in Safari via the 1Password Extension?
    • Version 5.1.2 is coming out soon with some fixes for our top crasher on iOS, so hopefully that will help you in the crash department.

Again, please accept my apologies. We'll do our best to help you out here.

I have a similar problem w/1password on iPad 2 with iOS 8.1. The lock screen sometimes freezes with the keyboard partially obscured off-screen. I sent a help request on October 17 and received an automated reply with support Id #FFD-34834-936. I have heard absolutely nothing since. I understand busy, but 4 weeks? Very disappointing....

I posted here yesterday but it seems to have got lost somewhere. I installed 1pw on my ipad2 and it is useless. I installed on my PC and it works seamlessly and efficiently. On the iPad I could fill in credit card details but not Internet banking which I thought would have been its most useful feature. It doesn't offer to remember details as it does on my PC. I tried syncing with the pc but that doesn't work either. Yesterday I couldn't even login because 1pw wasn't even recognizing some of the letters on the keyboard and would not allow me to backspace either. I'm at the point where I have no more patience.

The keyboard issue you're seeing is an iOS 8 issue, we can't fix it without Apple. It's not isolated to 1Password, a few other iOS apps have the same issue.

The workaround is to double-press the home button and swipe 1Password up to kill it. Open 1Password again and that generally fixes it.

I'm not sure what you mean by Internet banking, can you explain more?

It doesn't offer to remember details as it does on my PC.

1Password on mobile devices does not have that auto-save feature yet, that's only a feature on the desktops. We do want to bring this over but I don't have a timeframe on this as this is a complicated process to bring over to the mobile devices.

Thank you. The Internet banking I referred to is logging onto my bank's webpage with my account number and password. On the PC 1pw can do this but on the iPad it doesn't.

    Hi @Bill51,

To help solve the problem, we'll need some more details about it. What happens when you try to use the Login item for your bank's website? In most cases, Logins should work the same way on iOS as they do on a computer. Do you get an error? Or the Login form fields are not filled at all? Or something else? Do your other Login items work? What are the exact steps you're taking to use that Login? The more details you can give us about what you're doing and what happens, the better. Thanks!

When I go to the login for the bank (which is my only 1pw login on the iPad) nothing happens. I swipe and enter the bank's address and login to my account in the normal way. 1pw doesn't do anything.

  • @Bill51‌

I think perhaps this is a case of incorrect expectations. Have you read out guide on logging into websites using 1Password on iOS?

    Thanks.
