Splitting up the database / sync through dropbox

Hi,

I have a vault that I am the only one that has access to that has both personal and business related data in it. When I started using the software I never planned on keeping business passwords in it much less share with anyone else. There are several other people in my company that would like access to it. I have personal passwords saved in my vault as well and WILL not obviously give my personal data to the other users. I know I can export the vault, edit out what they don't need making it a business vault, import the data into the new vault and I can share that with everyone else.

The problem is, I have 1Password using a personal dropbox account and don't want anyone else seeing that my vault exists much less allow them to accidentally or deliberately delete it. I also use the IOS version of the software and would like to be able to access both vaults through there and apparently when I put the new vault in a separate dropbox folder so I could share with the other people I can't see the new folder / data on the IOS device.

There are also other people that would be able to use it through the Android app however I haven't played with it at all yet.

Is there a way I can have protect my data without worrying about what I mentioned above.

Thanks,

Chuck

I'd recommend exporting the items you want to share to 1PIF, creating a new shared vault, importing the 1PIF into that new vault, placing the new shared vault in a separate subfolder of your Dropbox folder hierarchy, and using Dropbox's "share folder" feature to share that new subfolder.

Say your current vault is [Dropbox root folder]\Apps\1Password\1Password.agilekeychain.

Create a new vault that is [Dropbox root folder]\Apps\1Password\work-stuff\shared.agilekeychain, and share the [Dropbox root folder]\Apps\1Password\work-stuff folder with your co-workers.

Once you tell them the master password for the shared.agilekeychain vault, they'll be able to use it without even seeing your personal vault.

I hope you won't mind my moving this thread to the 1Password for iOS forum, where it'll get the attention of the right people to help you with syncing multiple vaults on that platform.

Note: It may get moved to the 1Password for Android forum after that, for the answer to that qestion.
