Setting Up 1Password with Personal & Work Macs [Resolved]
Hi,
I've been a user of 1Password for Mac, iPad and iPhone for years. Recently, I have a new work Mac that I want to use my 1Password account on, so my open-ended question is - what's the best way to do this?
My issues:
- I don't seem to have a license key anywhere (my email address is not found in the 'lost my license key' form) https://agilebits.com/support
- I don't want to use my personal iCloud account on my work mac
- I don't want to use my personal dropbox account on my work mac (or at the very least, not sync all my personal files with my mac)
Anyone have a solution or any ideas?
Thanks!

Hi @defaultuser,
I don't seem to have a license key anywhere (my email address is not found in the 'lost my license key' form) https://agilebits.com/support
Is it possible that you used a different e-mail address when you ordered?
It is also possible that you didn't buy the license directly from us, but from the Mac App Store instead. If you purchased 1Password from the Mac App Store, we do not have record of it, and you do not require an AgileBits license. Apps from the Mac App Store are tied to your Apple ID.

I don't want to use my personal dropbox account on my work mac (or at the very least, not sync all my personal files with my mac)Wi-Fi sync may be a good solution for you. You'll find details and instructions for Wi-Fi sync here: https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-mac/5/en/topic/sync-wi-fi
Does that sound like an option that would work well for you?

@JasperP - Thank you for your detailed response! Please see my comments below.

Yes, it's why I checked all email addresses that I have :-)

This is probably the case. If so, do I then need to log onto my work Mac and download the app that way? (was hoping to avoid this) but it seems like my only alternative would be to purchase a second license/copy of 1password on my work mac?

Unfortunately, the only way to download Mac App Store apps is from the Mac App Store. If this is something that you want to avoid, you can purchase a secondary license directly from our store.
One other alternative I could suggest would be using 1PasswordAnywhere for read-only access to your passwords via the Dropbox website. It was built for 1Password 3, so it's not the cleanest solution (and we'd love to update it) but it might help you work around these concerns.

@Megan - Thanks for your detailed response and your help. With your guidance I was able to setup 1Password on my work Mac and sync it via Dropbox.
