    I assume:

    1. You have used only Mac App Store versions of 1P4 and 1P5 and have never downloaded direct from AgileBits. Is that correct?
    2. You are using OS X Yosemite—because 1P5 will run only on that.

If that is correct does this post help you at all?

You can also try deleting the app (by dragging it to the trash—don't use any app cleaner tool), emptying the trash, re-booting and re-downloading and re-installing.

If you bought from the Mac App store, the commonest cause of this problem is using a different Apple ID from the one you used when purchasing.

  • Hi Lai Kin Wah,

If you purchased 1Password for Mac from the Mac App Store, you can re-download it:

    • First, please ensure that you are signed into the Mac App Store using the same Apple ID that you purchased 1Password with.
    • Open the Mac App Store, then go to the Purchases tab.
    • Find 1Password on that list and click "Install".
