Chrome extension not working properly

OSX Mavericks, extension for Chrome installed, 1Password 5 up to date. For many sites login only works if done from mini, not the main menu page. If login attempted from main menu page the site comes up but not filled in, and mini will not fill in. However, I can login directly from mini by going to logins

    Hi @HButah,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the Chrome extension right now. Our developers are investigating a similar issue, so I'd love it if you could provide a bit more information for us:

    • What is the version number of 1Password? (You can find this in the 1Password > About 1Password menu)
    • What is the version number of the extension? (This is found in chrome://extensions)
    • If you refresh the page after 1Password loads the page, do your details fill correctly?

Any detail that you are able to provide can help us track this issue down. :)

5.0.2 1password. 4.2.5.90 chrome extension. And yes. It seems if I refresh it works, or if I try a second time from the main 1password login menu the second try works but still leaves the previous unlogged in page on the browser.

    Hi @HButah,

Thanks so much for confirming those details! I've added those details to the existing bug report in our internal tracker. We'll do what we can to have the browser extension behaving better for you in the future. :)

I also have the issue where the 1password Chrome extension typically doesn't work on the first try, but does after a page refresh. This has been going on for 2+ months now, on multiple versions of Chrome. I'm also on 1password 5.0.2. Any update on the bug report in your internal tracker? Thanks

    Hi @mbulman‌

Unfortunately there isn't an update on this at the moment. The extension is being worked on extensively at the moment though. I'm sorry there isn't anything more conclusive to report.

Understood. For my own curiosity, can you share any details around what steps typically cause the issue? Or any known workaround outside of refreshing?

    Hi @mbulman,

It looks like the most reproducible steps involve:

    • Making Chrome default browser
    • Clear all of Chrome caches
    • Using mini, select Open & Fill

With these steps, the page gets loaded, but the Login is not filled.

Refreshing seems to get things behaving properly.

We'll do what we can to get this sorted just as soon as possible for you all. :)

Hi. I have this exact problem for more than half a year now. Safari works fine. But I need to refresh Chrome every single time to get the autofill working. Very weird. I was thinking maybe some other chrome extensions or plugins were messing up with 1Password, but disabling them did not help.

    Here is my setup:
Mac OS X Yosemite (same problem on Mavericks too)
    Chrome: Version 40.0.2214.94 (64-bit)
    1Password 5.1
    1Password Chrome extension 4.2.5.90

    Thanks!
