The system says my trial has expired... but I bought the product during the free sale??
I bought the product when you had the sale for free and now it saying my trial has run out. I tried getting a license but that did not work.

If you're still having trouble then please let us know what you've been trying (as detailed as possible - it helps limit asking you what will seem like dumb questions ) and we can look into it for you.

So I put in my email address and it stated no license was found. I also went into my app store purchase history and I don't see the app their. I remember being really excited to get the application for free during the sale event you had. Am I crazy or did this not happen? I have no records as to where I got the application from but would like it to still work. I also have it installed on my iPhone as well. Maybe there was a registration process I skipped?

Hi @Donald Harris
Unfortunately, we have never offered 1Password for Mac for free. We have had some pretty awesome sales ... but none that good. There is a 30-day free trial available for download from our website however.
Is there a chance that you are thinking about 1Password 5 for iOS, which is a free download, unless you wish to purchase the Pro features?

Maybe thats the case. Maybe I just got confused. Well needless to say I am hooked so I will have to buy the full program. What is the best solution for this to get the iPhone and desktop to work correctly?

Have a look at this page in the knowledge base. There's a section devoted to whether you should buy from the Mac App Store or direct from AgileBits. The key point is that if you want to use iCloud sync you must buy from the Mac App Store.
Edit: sorry if I didn't answer your question. I may have misunderstood. If you're actually asking about what sync method works best there are pros and cons to each. Tell us what versions of the OS you have on the iPhone and on your Mac and others will be able to give more detailed guidance.

Hi @Donald Harris
Well, I have to say it's great to hear that you're enjoying 1Password! The link that @Stephen_C provided has some good advice when you're deciding whether to purchase from the Mac App Store or directly from our website. If you decide to purchase from the Mac App Store, we have a handy guide on how to Migrate to the Mac App Store version.
If you're curious about hooking up 1Password 5 for iOS and 1Password 5 for Mac with sync, we have several options available. Have a look at the Sync options in our user guide. Of course, if you have any other questions, we're here to help! :)

I'm in the same boat here - I did get this APP for free at one point and it was working a long while. Do I now have to spend $50?

Hi @bringonthesnow,
We've never offered 1Password 4/5 for Mac for free. Is it possible you were using the free trial? There was a bug in previous versions of 1Password where in certain cases an unregistered copy would not expire, so maybe you were not prompted previously.

I also got 1password for free. It was a free upgrade from my purchase of 1password 4 which I purchased as an upgrade from 1password 3. When I upgraded from 4 to 5, it worked fine and no "trial" was indicated. Now all of my home computers are showing that the trial has expired (I have the family pack). I'm a frustrated, longtime customer.

When I upgraded from version 4 to 5, the license file didn't automatically get added. I had to add it back. Perhaps that will help here?
I wouldn't call an update for free from a version I had paid for getting the application for free, but the key is that if you have a license, you should be fine.

Hi @barristerwa,
I'm sorry for any confusion about all this! If you purchased a license for 1Password 4 for Mac, then 1Password 5 for Mac is definitely a free upgrade. As @hawkmoth mentioned, it sounds like you simply need to re-add your license file to 1Password 5. If you need any help to do that, please let us know. Thanks! :)
