general upgrade policy if I buy an older version?

My ipod only supports ios6. if I buy version 4 and get the older 1P 4.3 through iTunes, will I get a free upgrade to version 5 when I eventually replace the ipod?

Similarly, I'm still using MacOS 10.8 because I can't be bothered to upgrade to Jony Ive's latest look. Can I get a free upgrade to 1password if I eventually cave in?

In both cases, I think it's fair to get an upgrade to the latest version that was available at time of purchase. e.g. I don't expect to wait for 3 years and get an upgrade to 1P version 8.

    Yes, as long as you use the same Apple ID. Do not change your Apple ID. :)

    Yes, if you purchase 1Password 4 for Mac from us, when you upgrade to OS X 10.10 you'll be able to download 1Password 5 for Mac from us [not from the App Store].
