Very Confused
Well, I thought that when you had your Logins, you just clicked on the website in the little icon and clicked the place you want to go. I did that with American Funds, which had been set up yesterday and when I got to the website I still had to enter my password, which I didn't remember, I thought 1 password was going to do that. Have I spent money on something that isn't going to work. I then clicked on Dish Net Work. It took me to the website, but I still had to click on Log on, where my User ID and Password were saved. Someone please help me since you can't call anyone at 1 Password to get help. This is very frustrating.

There's a very good explanation of how to use a saved 1Password login here in the knowledge base. I suspect it will help if you read that. If you then have more questions or problems please post again.

I must be doing something wrong. I read what you suggested and it seems like I am doing it. It isn't every website. For example, when I clicked the login for this site, it came right up. The Verizon site still wants me to put in the user ID and password. I am at my wit's end. I hoped that this was going to take care of our having to know all these passwords and having to log in every time. Is there somewhere else I can get more detailed information. I don't think I can get help with this at my Mac lessons at Apple. Anything you can do to help will be greatly appreciated. I don't know how long I have to get a refund for the purchase, but right now it certainly isn't doing what I expected it to do.

Verizon has two login screens. You need two 1Pssword scripts, Verizon #1 for the username entry and Verizon #2 for the password entry. Is that what you are doing?

Hi @Judithann
There could be a few things at play here.
- The URL you have stored in the website field. It's the difference between storing "http://www.reddit.com" and "https://www.reddit.com/login". One may be the main URL that you associate with a site but the second is a direct link to their login page.
- If you create a Login item in 1Password it sometimes can't determine what fields should be filled - you'd be amazed what some sites look like if you look under the hood (so to speak). If a site doesn't behave sometimes Saving a Login Manually will work (that's a guide on how to do so).
- Multi-page logins are annoying. We have a guide on that too which is here.
The fact is there are many ways of displaying something that seems simple as two fields for your username and password. Trying to ensure 1Password works with all is a ceaseless effort.
If those still don't help with a particular site please let us know. If you're having trouble getting any sites to work that's a little more troubling so still, please post here.

Plato, no I had no idea you needed to do that and I am not sure how.
littlebobbytables, Thank you for your response. I will try doing what is suggested in the 2 guides that you have suggested. I really want to get this resolved so I can get the most out of the program.
Thanks to both of you from

Okay, I got one website done. Now I am pesky Verizon Wireless and this is what has happened. I followed step one of the how to create multi page login and all was well until step 2. I was ok until step 3 in the process where it says in save dialogue, select Update Existing Login, then click update. I never got to a place where I could select Update Existing Login. Now what some smart, savvy person out there? Thanking all for your help, Judithann

Hi @Judithann
Could you please describe the steps prior to it failing for you, just so we can gain a better idea of where it was succeeding and when it stopped working as intended. After step 2 what appears on the screen and then what changes after each part of step 3?
The other option, and sadly sometimes you do have to, is to save the two pages separately (the guide does mention that at the bottom).
If you're still having troubles posting the URL in question might help. If we can see what you're seeing maybe we can suggest something after viewing it.

I am wondering if this is too much for a 71 year old woman to handle. Is there not any other support process available? When I need help from Apple for my Mac, I can talk to a real person, who can access my screen and help me with what I am having a problem with. Is there not a chat available? I have to go to the site, write down all the steps on a sheet of paper, go into the 1 password and try to follow all the steps. I am not stupid. I am fairly computer literate, but I need better assistance than I am getting here. HELP! Or I am going to get a one time exception refund on this program. Is there anyone out there who is willing to communicate with me one on one while I am attempting to do all of this????????????

Judithann...
I'm also 71 and probably not as pretty as you are. Here are the edit screens for my two login scripts. Possibly they will help. IDToken1 is the same as my username. IDToken2 is the same as my password.

Hi @Judithann
I am so sorry to hear that you're feeling frustrated here. I know the process can be a bit to get used to, but I can promise you that once you get the hang of things, 1Password will make it so much easier for you to be secure online.
I'm reading through the guide for multi-page Logins now, and I just want to confirm where things are getting tangled up: at step 2, are you able to select the 'Save new Login' option from 1Password mini? When that dialogue pops up, the default prompt will likely be 'Save new Login'. However, if you click on the 'Save new Login', it will show a dropdown menu. From there, you can select 'Update existing Login.' This will put both bits of your Verizon Login in one entry.
The alternative option is one that @Plato is showing. For some two-page Logins, users simply create two separate entries. If you choose to do this for your Verizon Login, simply use the Save a New Login Manually steps on each page individually, and make sure that you label each entry clearly so you know which entry is for which page (as Plato's screenshots demonstrate.)
I hope that this makes sense. Multiple page log in screens do present a bit of a unique challenge. If you have more questions, we're here to help!

I am giving up. Can someone tell me how to uninstall this monster from my computer? Life is far too short to go through this much frustration. Like the song says,"I got along without ya, before I met ya, gonna get along without ya now!!" Someone please come to my rescue so I can get rid of this headache.

I'm sorry you feel that way about 1Password. Staying secure online is tough without a program to assist, whether it's 1Password or another that better suits your needs. No matter what program you decide on I do strongly recommend you give it a serious shot. Even if all you end up doing is storing strong passwords in a secure fashion, copying and pasting them into your browser - that has to be better than either using weak passwords because they're easy to type or reusing a password over many sites.
I've been a customer of AgileBits' far longer than I've been part of the team. When I first came across their program my main browser of choice was once that wasn't compatible with their extension at the time. That meant for me features such as open and fill just weren't available unless I was willing to change browsers. What I did was I used a combination of ⌘⇥ (cmd + tab key) to switch rapidly switch between my browser and 1Password and copy and paste my username and password over, clicking on them in 1Password has the default action of copying them to the clipboard and after switching back to my browser I'd use ⌘V to paste into the appropriate field. Sure it isn't as nice as having a working extension but it means every site had a strong, unique password and so 1Password served its primary function, to remember passwords for me.
Of course if you've made your mind up we will be sorry to see you go but that is of course your decision to make. Uninstalling 1Password is pretty much like most Mac apps, if you drag the program from
/Applications/
to your Trash that will delete it (well it'll be truly gone once you empty your Trash). As for the support files such as the files containing your vault, the exact location depends on whether it was purchased from, both locations are below. Of course once you delete those and they're gone from even your Trash - they won't be recoverable.AgileBits store version:
~/Library/Application Support/1Password 4
Mac App Store version:
~/Library/Containers/2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper
If you're willing to continue with 1Password though we will try to assist here in the forums.
