compatibility with older OS/1PW versions?

We have two Macs (10.6 and 10.7) and two iPhones (iOS8) that need to share password access. Does the current iOS version work properly with the older OSX versions (assuming Dropbox sharing of the data)?

  • Good morning @afterhours‌, and thanks for taking the time to write in. I believe that you should be able to sync your 1Password data just fine. What version of 1Password are you using on your Macs?

v3.8.22 in OSX 10.7. Thus far, I think it is working properly. Thank you.

  • Thanks for the update @afterhours. Glad to hear it is working. :)

    B-Woodruff,

So as I head toward the end of my trial period, I'd like to buy a license. I'm running 3.8.22 as I mentioned above. The store wants me to buy a license for v5. Will that license work with my older version?

With a 1Password 5 for Mac purchase you will receive both a 1Password v5 for Mac license file (that will also work for v4) and a 1Password v3 for Mac license key if you purchase from our store (not the Mac App Store). Obviously we'd recommend using the latest version, but you will also be able to use the legacy version.

Please note that if you choose to upgrade in the future and want to sync with iCloud you'll need to re-purchase from the Mac App Store. There is no way to transfer your license from our store to theirs.

    Thanks.
