Problems upgrading license from v4 to v5

Hi there,

I just installed 1Password 5 on my new Mac running Yosemite. As I currently only have a v4 license, I choose "upgrade license" in the app and was then forwarded to your website (https://agilebits.com/store/upgrade?product_id=108). Although the website says that my current license has two upgrade options, I can't choose any of them because all the "Select" buttons are deactivated. The only active "Select" button is for Knox for Mac. Surely a great product - that I neither need nor ever have had a license for.

In other words: Halp! How can I upgrade?

Best regards

Thrax.

You have no need to upgrade your licence. Version 4 licences apply as well to version 5 (in other words, your version 5 will be licensed by your version 4 licence). The "upgrade licence" message is confusing in those circumstances and AgileBits is aware of that.

  • Hi @Thrax,

@Stephen_C is right, you don't need to upgrade your license. You simply need to re-apply it. In theory 1Password 5 should have picked up your 1Password 4 license. Can you double check something for me? Are you running 1Password 5.0.2 (5.0.0 and 5.0.1 accidentally shipped with the license auto-upgrader disabled)? Can you check to see if you have a license file installed at ~/Library/Application Support/1Password 4/License/License.onepassword-license? If the answer to both of those is yes, then it sounds like the license migrator isn't working correctly for you, in which I'd love to fix it.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Rick
