1Password in Iphone5 - Security
Recently signed up - looks great.
With 1Password linked via Cloud to iPhone does 1Password provide automatic synced passwords (such as to sites such as Amazon)? If so, what is to stop somebody who might have stolen phone and who could reasonably crack my ordinary 4 digit phone lock code then being able to access all my secure sites with 1Password providing auto access without having to open the vault? Or have I missed something. In other words, security on the phone then seems to hang on a simple iPhone lock code? Or do I now have to sign out on all sites and only access the same sites through the 1Password app using the URL addresses within the app? Sorry if the answer is within FAQs but did not find it.

Hi @TonyPentire,
Good questions! When you set up a sync option in 1Password, you're syncing your data to & from the 1Password app (i.e. you are not syncing any data to or from websites). You can use the 1Password extension in Safari to fill your login credentials on websites, but then it's up to you and the website to determine whether or not you remain logged in (1Password has no control over that).
As for security, if you're using the PIN Code option in 1Password, and you enter an incorrect PIN code to unlock it, 1Password will then require you to enter your master password (it will not ask for the PIN code again until after you've successfully unlocked it with your master password).
The PIN Code option in 1Password can only be enabled if you've also enabled the device passcode. So if someone stole your iPhone and wanted to get any data from 1Password, they would first need to figure out your device passcode, and then they would need to correctly guess your PIN code for 1Password on the very first try, or else figure out your master password.
In addition to all that, keep in mind that you can erase your iPhone remotely if you set up "Find My iPhone" on the device before it was stolen. You can find more information about that on Apple's support site here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ph2701
I hope that helps, but let us know if you have more questions!

Hi @TonyPentire,
Thanks so much for choosing 1Password to keep your digital data secure and organized!
With 1Password linked via Cloud to iPhone does 1Password provide automatic synced passwords (such as to sites such as Amazon)?
Yes. Syncing your data to the cloud (either with Dropbox or iCloud), or with Wi-Fi) will ensure that your data is updated on all your computers and devices when you need it.
In other words, security on the phone then seems to hang on a simple iPhone lock code?
We certainly don't recommend you rely on your iPhone's lock code to protect your data. Have a look inside 1Password's Security Settings (within the 'Settings' tab) for options to set 1Password's lock settings. You can set the timeframe for 1Password to lock and require your Master Password. To make your regular usage easier, you can set a PIN code so 1Password will be protected behind a unique PIN for a period of time without requiring you to enter your Master Password.
I hope this helps, but if you have any further questions, we're here to help!
