Hi @aaaashy
In order to get this sorted out, I'll need to know a little bit more about your 1Password ecosystem, in particular what are the version numbers of 1Password and your operating system for all computers and devices running 1Password? This is particularly important when dealing with iCloud sync, as there have been some big changes made by Apple between iOS 7/Mavericks and iOS 8/Yosemite.
The more detail you can provide, the more quickly we'll be able to get you sorted out! :)

that was strange! i did not see your reply to my mail until i made a new TAB in Safari and suddenly i see your response !!??!!
anyway, here is the info you want:-on my MacPro (mid 2010, running OS10.9.5) i am using 1Password v4.4.3
on my iPhone 6 Plus (one month old running iOS8.1.1) i am using 1Password ??? (how do i find out what i am using?) - i just went to my ~/Music/iTunes/Mobile Applications/folder and see that i appear to have TWO 1Password apps in there, one is 1Password 3.7.2.ipa and the other is 1Password5.1.2.ipa - which seems odd in itself, tho i WAS until i bought the iPhone 6, syncing to an iPhone 4 (which was running iOS7 ..... tho interestingly ALL the apps updated to the iOS 8 version and then i was informed every time i synced my iPhone 4 that it could not update certain apps because they were for a different iOS ... in fact please see m,y only other Forum question which related to that problem)
on my iPad Air (first version, also running iOS8.1.1) i am using 1Password but again no idea how to check the version number

i should add that i sometimes update apps using WiFi and sometimes by syncing to my MacPro, but i do NOT use the iCloud since i buy AIFF music files and iCloud messes this up by wanting to download MPG versions to my iPhone and iPad, so i was advised to stop using it by an Apple "Genius"

Look towards the bottom of the Settings screen, just above Advanced >.

i am on my iPhone, in Settings, and i see
the first group starts with AIRPLANE MODE
the second section starts with NOTIFICATIONS
the third group starts with GENERAL
the fourth with ICLOUD
the fifth with MAIL, CONTACTS, CALENDARS
the sixth with MUSIC
the seventh with TWITTER
the eighth with 1PASSWORD
(which contains about 300 apps)but i do not see ADVANCED anywhere
and if i go into 1PASSWORD, i only see "Allow 1Password to Access:
BACKGROUND APP REFRESH (YES)
USE CELLULAR DATA (YES)0 -
btw my reference earlier to not using iCloud was prob wrong, it is iTunes Match that i have switched off ... but i do not think that would effect this

oooooh, you wanted me to OPEN 1PASSWORD and go to the Settings section

The Settings screen you need is the 1Password Settings screen not the iOS Settings screen.

copied from Megan
s mail a few days back: "This is particularly important when dealing with iCloud sync, as there have been some big changes made by Apple between iOS 7/Mavericks and iOS 8/Yosemite."
does this mean that the fact that i am using iOS 8 with Mavericks could lead to a problem?
i have not updated to Mavericks because of the numerous problems the new OS is causing users, let alone that it takes up to a year for some of my pro apps to be updated to work on it, so if that is the case then i have a problem that is going to take a LONG time to resolve0 -
Hi @aaaashy
Yes, that would certainly be a problem. iOS 8 and Mavericks cannot sync via iCloud. You can use Dropbox or WiFi sync instead until you're able to upgrade to Yosemite.
P.S. This isn't a live chat, it is a discussion board (think: public email). Immediate feedback is not possible. Thanks!

thanks bwoodruff:) i had been using iCloud to sync when i had iOS7 and 10.8 iirc, so i assumed the same would happen when i moved straight up to iOS8 and 10.9 ..... i used to upgrade immediately to the latest OS when it was released, but i started finding that the pro apps i was using were taking a lot longer to work properly with the new OS (i am thinking especially of the Nikon apps and a few assorted other photography apps i really rely on for my workflow), and the 10.10 OS seems to have a lot of other problems (like WiFi dropouts etc), so i now leave it till 2nd or even 3rd versions ... so maybe i should not be in a hurry to update iOS either (in this case with 1Password) .... the remedy seem to be for me to start using Dropbox again ... because it really is quite problematic if i don't get all syncing together especially as i also now use the password generator to create very complicated passwords (i used to use simple ones i could memorise).
i am going to try and start by syncing my desktop with Dropbox and hope that i do not lose any important passwords in the move ... tho i know that 1Pw will probably try and cover that by merging the differences i have found that this itself can result in confusion ...
could i suggest that 1Password alerts users to this problem somewhere prominent on their website, and with each major update ... if they do already then i apologise for missing it

just before i do, can i ask another question?
should i delete the old 1Password.agilekeychain i already have in Dropbox?
i do not think it should be merged with anything since i have not used it for at least 6 months or more ...

also looking back through this conversation, should i have been addressing each person with @......... in order for them to know i had updated the conversation?

Thanks for the suggestion. :)

i guess i will delete the old Dropbox agilekeychain then .....

well i have moved all to my Dropbox ... tho i do note that my desktop now has 296 items, my iPhone has 304, and my iPad has 305
which does seem a little odd, surely they should all have the same number of itemsbut lets see next time i need to access 1Pw if it does the job ... fingers crossed
