Missing Some Data After Upgrading From 1Password for iOS 3.7.2 to 1Password 5

Hi. I recently upgraded (successfully, I thought) from 3.7.2 to 5. The passwords I created previously were more or less where I expected them to be. Because of problems I was having with iOS Notes a while back, I put a bunch of my father's doctors' names and numbers in a login item I had set up for their website, and when I needed them yesterday all I found were the basic web address and password. All the custom fields and numbers were gone. Is what I did in 3.7.2 not supported in 5, is it something I can only do in the Pro version, or is something else going on? Thanks.
Jason

    Hi @jason_r‌

So I had to do some mucking about there but I 'think' I know what has happened.

    Here's a screenshot from 1Password 3

    and here's one from 1Password 5

Is this essentially what you're seeing? If it is then you should find all the missing information in Saved form details section as you can see below.

Now if this isn't the case please do let us know. If it is then you will probably want to consider slowly moving all the information from the form details into our new custom sections. Web form details is for the information that we submit to a login page and not the best place to leave critical information that you wish to access.

When you edit a Login item you should have the ability to Add new section and then Add new field. A field compromises of a label and the field's value/data. Upon saving you should find those custom sections are visible directly viewing the Login item.

If that doesn't cover your situation or you have more questions please do post back here.

Hi, littlebobby. Thanks for your reply. No, I do not see a "saved form details," just the username, password, website, and a note I added subsequent to upgrading. I deleted 3.7.2 from my phone after upgradingg, but saved the data to my laptop before doing so. Any ideas?

    Hi @jason_r,

All Login items should always have a Saved form details section. Are you sure you don't see that in your Login item, even if you scroll down? Are you able to see the Saved form details section in other Login items?

Just to make sure we understand, did you originally enter those details in custom fields, or in the notes field, or somewhere else?

You said you saved the data to your laptop before deleting 1Password 3 from your iPhone. Can you be more specific about that? Do you mean you synced the data to 1Password on your Mac, or saved a backup file, or backed up your iPhone in iTunes?

    Thanks!

Hi, Drew_AG. Yes, I just re-checked several login items and I don't see any "saved form details" sections. Listing from top to bottom, I see username, password, website, notes, Pro Item Features, Add to favorites, and Share Login.

If I recollect correctly, I entered the information in custom fields, with something like the Dr.'s name or specialty as the item, and his/her name and number on the right.

Before installing 1Password 5, I both saved a backup file and synced with iTunes. Thanks for any/all help.

    @jason_r‌

I am terribly sorry but the form details will only be displayed when you have purchased the pro features. If you don't want to purchase these there is still another way to check all of your data from 1Password 3.7.2 is there. You could set up sync on iOS, download a trial version of 1Password for your Mac or PC, sync with the same vault as iOS and check the details there.

Winnie, thanks for your response. I wondered if that was the case, if I needed to purchase the Pro version of 1Password to see my custom fields. I even asked that question in my initial inquiry. Would it be possible to reinstall 3.7.2 to copy out the data I need and then re-input it in 1Password 5?

@jason_r‌ you can always reinstall 1Password 3.7.2 and reimport the backed up data from your computer. You should find 1Password 3.7.2 in your purchases in the App Store. From there you can copy the data from 1Password 3.7.2 and paste them into 1Password 5. You will have to put the data into the notes field of the item as the creation of custom fields is also unlocked by purchasing Pro.

    Hope that helps!
