1Password5 Crashes iPhone6 and No Longer Synchs to Version 3
There was another discussion on this topic, but it was closed with no responses. This is CRAZY!!! Please fix this issue. I can barely use 1Password. Furthermore, I upgraded and can no longer sync to my older Mac version of 1Password. Why can't your newer app manage synching to older versions. Ridiculous. So, bottom line, I have 1Password on four devices and one crashes, two synch, but my original, most used version does not. Just great. NOT HAPPY!!! The best part is that I believed your company would have the integrity to continue to allow synching to older versions or at a minimum notify me that the devices that have older versions would not synch. This is something that should be in the release notes you see BEFORE purchase!!!!
Can you please fix this?

Hi Kim!
Sorry about the frustration with syncing. Unfortunately sometimes in order to move forward it isn't possible to maintain compatibility with older software or hardware. 1Password 3 for iOS was discontinued in December of 2012. At that time it was able to sync with 1Password 3 for Mac via WiFi, and with Dropbox. Unfortunately in September/October of 2013 Dropbox changed their APIs such that in order to continue syncing apps needed to be updated. We were not allowed to update 1Password 3 for iOS because it was no longer for sale at that point (the app store only allows updates to apps that are actively sold). It is still possible to sync 1Password 3 for iOS with 1Password 3 for Mac via WiFi. We did send out multiple in-app notifications to 1Password 3 for iOS users about all of this; I'm sorry if you missed them.
If you could please tell me a little more about your situation I can point you in the right direction. Please tell me:
- What devices you have 1Password on?
- For each of those devices, what version of the operating system (e.x. Mac OS or iOS) do you have installed?
- Which version of 1Password do you have on each device?
In addition, where is your most up to date 1Password data? Is there one device that has everything, or do you have data spread across multiple devices that needs to be merged? Please elaborate here as well.
Thanks!
