Upgrade licence for discounted price on Mac Store? [Not possible, due to MAS restrictions]
I can buy the upgraded version of 1Password from the web store for half price, but I'd rather get it on the Mac Store. Any way to discount the Mac Store version for old licence holders?

Unfortunately not, no. Apple's Mac App Store does not offer discounts.

I saw another post like this were an AgileBits staff member contacted the member telling them to check private messages. Perhaps it's still possible. That would be greatly appreciated at least!

Hi @mattwestcott,
I'm not quite sure which post you're referring to, but what Ben said above is true. The Mac App Store doesn't provide us any way to discount 1Password for any particular user: we can't offer upgrade discounts for users who have previously purchased 1Password, and we can't offer coupons to help out individual users. The price in the Mac App Store is the price for all users. This is one of the reasons we love offering 1Password for sale via our own webstore: it allows us to be much more generous. :)

I purchased 1Password v.3 some time ago. Now I have a new computer with Yosemite, and I want to upgrade to 1Password v.5. On the web site, I can do that for $25. On the App Store, it wants to charge me the full $49.99. Apparently buying through the App Store offers some iCloud connectivity/backup advantage, but I don't want to pay twice the price. Any way to get the upgrade discount through the App Store?
