Yosemite. Sync prblems
Specifications/info:
I bought 1Password 4 app for iphone. I don't believe I ever upgraded to 5 but cannot tell as I can't find a "Version" or "About this Software" anywhere on the app interface! It does say in once screen: Thank you for purchasing Pro features--don't know what this means as I didn't purchase anything in app since beginning.
The version on my Mac is definitely 1Password 4.
Both versions do appear to perform their iCloud syncs and document as "synced one minute ago" etc but new login data does not transfer from app to mac version or viceversa.
Only recent change to my computer, upgraded to Yosemite a few days ago.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

PS is there a way to extract all my data in a file to keep separately somewhere? Not a very good thing to do but just want to know.

Hi @domo
in the iOS version of 1Password you can find the version number in the settings. It is written underneath "Recommend 1Password".
If you already purchased 1Password 4 for iOS, the Pro Features will be automatically unlocked when updating to 1Password 5 - no additional purchase is necessary!
Did you enable iCloud Drive on both your Mac and iPhone? If one of your devices is still using the old iCloud than that would explain your syncing issues.
When you say you want to extract your data in what format do you want to extract it? On the Mac we have a couple of different options (1pif, csv, txt) to export all data. To export your data use the menu File > Export > All Items... . But I would strongly advise you against exporting your data like this as everything will be unencrypted. I'd rather suggest to make copies of the backups 1Password for Mac is creating regularly to a secure location.

Looks like I have version 4 on the Mac and 5 on the iphone. According to Agile website, I cannot use iCloud to synce with 1Password 5. What should I do now? Should I update Password 4 for Mac or 'downgrade' Password5 for iphone or what to do. Advice appreciated.

Hi @domo
In order to sync with iCloud you would need both 1Password 5 for iOS and 1Password 5 for Mac. It sounds like you already have 1Password 5 for iOS, so you are all set there. 1Password 5 for Mac requires at least OS X 10.10 Yosemite. If you are running Yosemite, this is a free upgrade (must be downloaded from the store you purchased from originally -- double check to avoid being charged).
If you are not running Yosemite, then you will not be able to sync with iCloud. You'd need to use either WiFi or Dropbox sync.
Thanks!

I just downloaded a free (?) update of 1 Password to version 5 which has come from Agile store, I believe, and now it says that I can't use icloud sync in this link that came with the update:

Hi @domo
There are two main options.
- Change your sync method. While support for iCloud has unfortunately become splintered this doesn't apply to either Dropbox or the use of Wi-Fi Sync between a single Mac and iOS device(s). If you have multiple Macs or need to keep multiple iOS devices in sync while you're out then Dropbox is probably the best route. It's very much like iCloud but is actually a little more versatile.
- Purchase 1Password for Mac from Apple's Mac App Store. As of iOS 8 and Yosemite, access to frameworks such as CloudKit are limited to apps purchased through Apple's stores. We didn't want to be in this position but we have to work within their confines.
Does that help?
