Generating a password in iOS 8 via 1Password extension

I noticed on a blog post (https://blog.agilebits.com/2014/09/03/1password-app-extension-developers/) that it states extensions can "Generate strong, unique passwords and create new Logins during a signup process." I haven't been able to use extensions to do this for me this. How can I activate this feature or how does this feature work in safari?

Good question! The 1Password extension on iOS works a bit differently in Safari than it does in other apps. Currently (as of version 5.1.2 for iOS), the 1Password extension cannot generate passwords or create new Logins in Safari. This is something our developers are working on, so at some point it will be able to do that.

On the other hand, the 1Password extension can currently generate passwords and create new Logins in third party apps. In other words, it's possible, but it's up to the developers of third party apps to add support for those specific abilities. Many developers have already added support for the 1Password extension, but most of those apps only support the ability to fill login data, and not yet the ability to generate passwords or create new Login items. We're certainly hoping they add support for additional extension features in the future! :)
