Trial Expired on 1Password 5 which I never wanted to upgrade to

My 1 Password now says I need to buy another license. However, I NEVER was informed it was a paid upgrade, and I never decided to upgrade (paid). And YES, I did read https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/31603/trial-expired-notice-in-1password-5-for-mac

Any way to downgrade?

BTW, International Visa or Amex (through PayPal) does not work for me. Holding my passwords ransom is not acceptable!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1Password never holds your data. Its always available. I cant say what you are seeing ? It honestly sounds like you are running one of the beta builds, which has a display bug and doesn't show credit card numbers. If so check for updates as its fixed now, or should be for the majority of folks.

    What version where you on previously ? 1Password 4 was a free upgrade to 1Password 5. So if you wish to stay on it your more than welcome to.
    If you wish to move back to a previous version you can. But if you will tell us if its the Mac App Store or the AgileBits site version we can better give you details on how to proceed.

    I am so sorry that you're feeling frustrated here, and we'll do what we can to get this sorted out for you just as soon as possible. I just want to assure you that, as @thightower mentions, we will certainly not hold your data hostage.

    Just to clarify, the upgrade from 1Password 4 to 1Password 5 is free for all 1Password 4 owners. It was the upgrade from 1Password 3 to 1Password 4 that was a paid upgrade. Unfortunately, there were a few edge cases where 1Password 4 would not properly prompt you for a license, so there's a chance that you could have used a trial version of 1Password 4 without knowing that a separate license was required. If this is the situation for you, I sincerely apologize.

    I'd be more than happy to help you downgrade to a previous version of 1Password. Could you please let me know where you originally purchased 1Password? I took a look in our back office records and was unable to find any license details under the email address you attached to your forum account.

    Since 1Password 5 and 1Password 3 are separate apps - have you uninstalled 1Password 3 already, or is the app still present on your system? This will give us a better idea of how to proceed with the downgrade. :)
