moving data from 1password 3 safari to 1password5 [moved to email]
Hi,
i just bought the 1pass 5 for my mac.
I had already many passwords on my safari extension for 1password but I don't know how to transfer them to the app

Thanks so much for supporting 1Password! I'm curious - is the data in your 1Password 3 extension also in the 1Password 3 main app? If so, 1Password 5 should detect your existing database and allow you to unlock directly.
Have you tried opening 1Password 5 yet?
Once I know a bit more detail about where you currently are in the set-up process, and if your database is complete in 1Password 3 (main app), I'll be able to give you instructions on how to get set up!

hi megan,
i only have the extension in my safari. i don't seem to have another main app for it.
i tried opening the 1pass5 app, but there was no obvious way to transfer my safari data..0 -
Could you go into Safari's preferences please, switch to the Extensions tab and let us know what version of the 1Password extension you have that allows you to access your passwords.
If the version is 3.9.20 or anything starting with 3 can you try the the following please and report back.
Open Finder and use the ⇧⌘G keyboard shortcut. In the Go to the folder : window that pops up can you copy and past into there this location,
~/Library/Application Support/1Password/
.If that takes you to the folder in question, is there a 1Password.agilekeychain in that folder? 1Password 5 should be picking it up but if not we can force it to. If instead OS X beeps at you and says The Folder can't be found.
Either way if you can let us know and we can take it from there.

Let's take a closer look at your system to figure out where things are getting tangled up.
I'd like to ask you to create a Diagnostics Report from your Mac:
https://guides.agilebits.com/kb/1password4/en/topic/diagnostics-report#mac4Then attach the entire file to an email to us: support+forum@agilebits.com
Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.
A short note here once you've sent the Report in will help us to keep an eye out for it. :)
Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!

I have been trying to create the report but it doesn't seem to work. The app keeps working for 4-5 hours, but nothing gets produced

It sounds like you're running the wrong Diagnostics Report tool there. Make sure you're picking the correct tool for your OS: For example, for 1Password 4 and 5, you'll want the first tool available.

I tried searching for both your forum email address and your username but couldn't find a ticket connected either, could you supply the ticket ID please so we can link the ticket back to this thread. Once we do that we can continue the troubleshooting.
