I've Previously Purchased 1Password but Can't Get My License

Two issues:
1. I originally downloaded 1Password for Mac, which I did not pay for. I then later downloaded 1Password for the iPhone which I did pay for ($17.99). I have now updated to 1Password 5, a decision which turns out to be a mistake since all of a sudden 1Password is locked and indicating that my trial has expired (a trial I didn't know I was on). I've been using 1Password for several months now without issue. So fine, you want me to pay some more for the license, it's a great product so I'm good with that, but when going to the website I can't enter my license code (because I never received one, only an iTunes receipt) to upgrade. When I try to get my license code resent, the site rejects my email address. How can I upgrade given the method which I purchased the product?
2. It is extremely annoying that it's impossible to find contact information on your website. The https://agilebits.com/contact_us link leads to https://agilebits.com/support, a page which has no contact information on it. I've now spent a half hour of the work day screwing around with the various dead ends you've setup for me around licensing and the maze of your website and I have no way to contact you other than to post on the forums which does not seem like the best way to do it. My irritation undermines my love of your work. Please provide clear information on how to contact you directly on your site in an easy to locate place. A simple "contact us" page with an email address would suffice.

The key issue here is that the licenses for Mac and iOS are sold separately. You need to purchase both to be able to take advantage of the coordination between desktop and mobile device. Each platform requires a separate license.

So the reason you don't have a license code for Mac is because you never paid for it and therefore never had one. And they can't resend one, since there is none to resend. I'm not sure why you've been able to use the desktop version so long without registering. It's available as a free 30-trial, after which you need to pay. I seem to recall reading here in the forums that earlier versions were laxer in enforcement of the registration requirements than the current version is.

So you'll be fine if you just purchase the Mac version now. If you aren't aware, only the version sold at the Mac App Store can use iCloud for syncing. If that is important to you, you should buy there. If you want cloud syncing and buy from the AgileBits web store, you will need to use Dropbox.

    Hi @pontupo,

I'm sorry for any confusion about the license & purchasing! @hawkmoth's information about licenses & purchasing is exactly right. For your convenience, here are links for 1Password 5 for Mac on our web store and the Mac App Store:

    AgileBits web store: https://agilebits.com/store

    Mac App Store: http://j.mp/1PmasCS

As for not seeing anything about a trial until now, there was actually a bug in 1Password 4 for Mac where, in certain cases, an unregistered/trial copy would not expire. That has been fixed in version 5, so that could explain why you just started to see the Trial Expired message recently.

Hopefully that helps, but please let us know if you need anything else! :)

Thanks to both of you, very helpful clarification! After purchasing 1Password on the App Store I'm back up and running!
