How/where to enter license number?
I repeatedly receive notice that my trial has expired. Though i didn't ever do a trial but rather purchased the license, I follow the steps to add the license. (I have an email containing the license number.)
After selecting "add license" a finder window pops up but from there I do not know what I am supposed to do. I have nothing on my finder page pertaining to 1Password5 except the application listed under both "Downloads" and "Applications" but in both instances, those 1Password5 items are dim. Instructions do not work in this instance.

This sticky at the top of the forum should help you to enter the licence. I'm not sure what you mean when you say:
Instructions do not work in this instance.
What instructions don't work? If you're still stuck have a look at this knowledge base article about adding the licence.
Edit: what version of 1P are you running? You say 1P5 but 1P5 doesn't use a licence number but a licence file.

In additon to what @stephen_C said if you need a copy of the license file you can get it from the License Resend Page

Just a guess, but are you attempting to enter a license number that came with version 3 or earlier? With the release of version 4, the license number was replaced by a file, not an alpha numeric key. If you haven't upraded to version 4 or 5, but are using one of those versions, you'll need that license file. Depending on when you purchased version 3, getting that file may be free or it may require an upgrade fee.
The same license file works for both versions 4 and 5.

Hi @sallyjh,
As @hawkmoth mentioned, is it possible that what you have is a license key for 1Password 3? 1Password 4 and 5 won't accept a key, and instead need a license file which should be attached to the email the store sends out after a purchase. If what you have is a 1Password 3 license key, then that can be upgraded to a 1Password 4/5 license file on our store.
I hope this helps.
