Adding shared license to family member Mac
I have 1password 5.0.2 on both my Mac and on my wife's Mac. I have the dropbox shared 1password folder on both my wife's mac and my mac and on both of our web dropbox accounts. In my Dropbox account, there is the file that says “1password.agilekeychain” that is a shared folder with my wife's Dropbox. It shows up in both my dropbox online account and on dropbox on my wife's mac. I purchased the 1password 4 for Mac family license in Oct 2014 and believe that is what is on my Mac although there does not appear to be any way to confirm that.
When I open up 1password on my wife's computer and try and add the license by addiing the shared license file, I can see the file in her dropbox folder on her mac but I am not able highlight the file so I cannot add it. So my wife has a trial version of 1password 5 with old, unsynced passwords in the file. I need to somehow convert her trial version to the licensed version by adding the correct folder in order for both of us to have current, synced passwords. 1password works fine on my computer and on my IOS devices but does not update on my wife's devices.

I have the same problem. My wife and I share the same Mac with two user ID's. I have purchased and installed 1password on my login but her's says the trial has expired. When I open up 1password on my wife's ID and try and add the license by addiing the shared license file, I can see the file in her dropbox folder on her mac but I am not able highlight the file so I cannot add it.

I may be confused, but perhaps the problem is that you need to load the license file directly into your spouse's application/ The way I've done that in our house is to send the license file by email to my wife, then drag that file into the license dialog under the 1Password menu.
I'm confused by the reference to seeing the license in the Dropbox folder. If your wives can see it there in a shared folder, they ought to be able to drag it out of that folder in the Finder and then install it into their own copies of the application.

The problem is that when I open 1password and click on "add license" it will not let me add the license file in to the application.
When I click on "add license", it shows me the dropbox folder and the license but I cannot highlight the license file and select open. It only highlights cancel so I am not able to add it.0 -
Try dragging the license file to the desktop, and then into the license dialog in 1Password.

The file you mention in the opening post "1Password.agilekeychain" is the data file that holds all your information. It does not contain the license file. The license file is a separate item (non shared thru Dropbox) and must be added in the 1Password license box. It looks like this, if the file is saved to the computer.
- If you need another copy of the license file then please use this link to retrieve it.
- Resend my license keys please.

Hi @grathman & @acwebs
Hopefully thightower's post has help you both out but please let us know if it hasn't. It does seem like there is some confusion over sharing a vault (your data) and the licence file which is completely separate. You can share a licence and not share a vault at all, it all depends on how you want to use 1Password.

I think I got it. Thank you. I didn't realize the license information was an actual file.
