Syncing problems across iOS X 8.1.1 and MacOS X 10.9.5

Neither my wife nor my 1Password syncing is working between our two iPhone 6's and our MacBookPro's.

Her iPhone has 263 items. Her MacBookPro has 288 items
My iPhone has 514 and my MacBookPro has 533 items.
I have a second MacBookPro at work and it has 527 items instead of like my "main" MacBookPro with the 533 items.

Both MacBook Pro host the main 1Password items.

The both point to our individual DropBox accounts which are separate accounts.

On both iPhone 6's I have deleted the 1Password App.
Then powered down the phone. (v. 5.1.2)
Reinstalled the App.
Pointed to each individual DropBox account
Confirmed same UN and PW as from the MacBookPro's DropBox application to logon.

But, still, the sync is not working. In fact, my wife's iOS X device is all messed up. Multiple items are no longer present on her MacBookPro but still appear on the iOS X device.

I have also created a TEST item in Secure Notes within the MacBookPro and then gone to my IOS device to see if it would arrive after syncing. But, to no avail. It does not cross over.

How can I be positive that our MacBookPro 1Password Applications are absolutely pointing, as we believe they should be, to our DropBox accounts?

We have never Sync'ed with iCloud. Syncing only with the same home WiFi account.

I have gone to the Search spyglass in RUQ of my MacBookPro and can only find one 1Password.agilekeychain file and that is in DropBox. The information on that file says "last modified Sept 14, 2014" however, I make changes to my 1Password OS X Application several times a day. Would that or should that change the "last modified" date?

We both have Mini iPads as well. iOS X 8.1.1 with Model ME278LL/A for mine.

Did the same routine. Trashed, re-booted, reinstalled, sync'ed with DropBox with same password and UN and started fresh. Again, the OS X device had only 513 Items compared to the 533. The Test Secure Note did also not come across.

Is it all possible that where our main MacBookPro's are sending the data to be sync'ed is not what I think it is on either OS X machine? How can I tell for sure where the data is being sent.

Not sure what else to do. I sent you a troubleshooting file from UN lungrunner

    Further info:

I created another test Item but this time went from my Device to my Computer. Again, it did not show up on my Computer.

I went to DropBox and opened packages and found several for December 2, 2014 there. So I understand the date Modified for the agilekeychain is not helpful.

I then went to the 1Password.html and opened it with my PW.

On DropBox, the 1Password.html file has its Last Modified date as October 4, 2014.

I opened it with a right click and used my PW to open the file. Neither of the two Test Secure Items I created from my Device or Computer showed up there.

    What is next step?

    Hi @lungrunner‌,

Thanks for taking the time to write in. I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with Dropbox sync between 1Password for Mac and iOS.

You followed the standard procedures without success. Several of our team members stumbled upon a similar issue. I am assuming that your wife's and your most up-to-date data resides on your Macs and not on iOS, since you mentioned that you already uninstalled and re-installed 1Password for iOS. If this is still the case, let's try the following steps to try and solve the problem:

    1. On your iOS devices - Please Erase Data and Settings, this will reset 1Password for iOS as if it were freshly reinstalled.
    2. On you Mac - Please update the Dropbox app, disable Dropbox sync by enabling the Delete data from Dropbox checkbox and re-enable Dropbox sync. This will create a fresh new 1Password.agilekeychain file in Dropbox.
    3. Open 1Password for iOS and setup an existing vault by using the newly created 1Password.agkeychain file from your Mac.

If you wish to help us determine whether or not you stumbled upon a known bug that we already fixed in the latest betas, can you please send us diagnostic reports from both you Mac and iOS before you follow the procedure above?

Here's how to generate a diagnostic report for Mac and here's the procedure for iOS.

    Hope that this helps

    Cheers!

BINGO!! You nailed it. The only thing I did a bit different is I dragged to trash my 1Password folder and chain to my trash and erased the trash can. Then I recreated a new agile key and then went to my iOS. Yahoo! Well done!

Another Mac OS X system now having issues and not correctly syncing. If I have it find my DropBox file, it wants to Merge. Not sure I want to. How do I have this other Mac delete its database syncing with DropBox and then find the DropBox file and sync with it as a fresh download?

Now my iPhone 6 once again is not syncing properly. I has not sync'ed in 12 days and therefore has the incorrect database. I hit to sync but the current sync does not happens. Actually, I don't think it is doing anything. I did a hard reboot of the phone. No change. Not sure why it is not syncing.

logged onto my 1Password program within DropBox and it is not at all accurate any longer. I assume I trash it. But again, even if it Syncs from my main computer correctly, I do not want to MERGE bad data on my other MacOS computers. Please advise why none of my DropBox files have the same data. What to do?

  • I'd like to ask you to create a Diagnostics Report from each of your devices: https://guides.agilebits.com/kb/1password4/en/topic/diagnostics-report

Then attach the each file to an email to us: support+forum@agilebits.com

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

A short note here once you've sent the Reports in will help us to keep an eye out for it. :)

Once we see the reports we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!
