Using 1Password family licence on my spouse's computer
I purchased a 1Password4 (since upgraded to 1Password5) family licence and set it up on my computer. I also wanted my wife to use it on her computer so I downloaded 1Password4 onto her machine. There is no obvious way that you can make use of the family licence in this download process, so she finished up with a trial version. That has now expired and is of little use. I have tried to re-download 1Password and use the family licence but have had no success. Can you please tell me how to go about this.

You need to send (email, iMessage, USB stick, etc.) your own licence to your wife so she can apply if on her machine. If you don't have your licence you can have it re-sent to you from this page.

Thanks for your suggestions. I'll give it a try. I have already tried to enter my licence number on her machine but because we loaded a trial version on her computer, it doesn't want to recognise it. I'll let you know how I get on.

OK. I uninstalled the trial version of 1Password from my wife's computer. Next I forwarded the email from my computer to my wife's computer, downloaded 1Password but when I try to log in to 1Password it won't accept my login to open my vault. It only accepts the login to the vault we set up fi=or the trial version. Help please.

I think I see the problem now. I regularly clean out my downloads folder. It looks like I deleted the folder I need to licence 1Password on my wife's computer. What can I do?

Both posts #2 and #3 in this thread have the link you need in order to have the licence re-sent to you. However, I am confused by your post #4 where you say:
I have already tried to enter my licence number on her machine
1P5 uses a licence file not a licence number.

Hi @okrosco
There does seem to be a bit of confusion here.
A licence is for running 1Password but this is separate from your vault which is your data. Imagine your vault is like your bookmarks in your favourite browser. Downloading the same browser onto both machines doesn't allow you to see your bookmarks unless you copy them across or sync (if your browser allows this). You can have your own personal vaults which the other can't see, you can decide to share a vault via sync and that choice is completely independent of 1Password being licensed.
If you were to download the licence file again you can simply apply that same file to the trial copy of 1Password on your wife's machine and she can continue working from where she left off as removing a program from the Applications folder doesn't harm the data.
If that didn't help please let us know and we can continue the conversation to help you out.
