Multiple master passwords still working
Hi,
I am confused because there was information out there that multiple master passwords for iOS and OS X are no longer possible.
So I recently changed my master password on OS X (OS X 5.1.Beta-6) and noticed I was no longer able to sync via Wifi - the only method I ever use to sync. Assuming it would solve the issue, I turn of synching and re-enabled it, sure enough 1password now asked me for the master password on the Mac. I entered it, the sync completed and at this point I assumed the iOS version would adopt the new master password. However it appears this did not happen as it still will only open with the older one.
What this tells me is that the vaults on the two devices synched only via Wifi work differently then when synching via iCloud or Dropbox.
Now I would like to know the official version, how this should be working and hence if it then is still possible to have two master passwords, which some people actually really like or if this is a bug and will go away.
Thanks!
Mario

I am sure it is the intention that master password changes should sync by all sync methods (see this comment from AgileBits, for example) so I certainly wouldn't regard having separate master passwords as anything like a feature! I think it's better not to depend on that.

Hi @mariod
This is not the intended behavior. Changing your Master Password should make it so the new password is required everywhere. That said, WiFi sync does not currently do this. Currently the Master Password must be changed in each instance. Our developers do have a bug filed and are looking to see if this is something we can improve.

Thanks for the feedback! I agree it should be only one password everywhere, even though it seems to be nice to have an easier to type one on iOS, it's also a security downfall. I just knew many people liked the idea of having two so I wondered if feature or bug. Again thanks for clarifying.
