Very disturbing bug !

I bought a 1 Password family pack and a very annoying "bug ?" has appeared suddenly.
We have 4 Macs on our little home LAN, 3 running either Maverick or Yosemite and 1 old Mac running Snow Leopard which I don't want to upgrade for compatibility reasons. Every time I use Chrome on this last Snow Leopard Mac as other Macs are present on LAN it automatically replaces 1Password Chrome extension with the latest version which is not compatible with 1 Password application used on this Mac. I have to download it again and then it replaces on all other Macs, if I deactivate it on 1 Mac it is deactivated on all Macs running on same LAN.
Why it doesn't seem to be possible to run 1Password
– version 5 on some Macs with proper browser extensions working
– version 3.8 on 1 Mac with correct browser extensions working at the same time ?
It looks to me as a BUG ?
Apart from this annoying problem a MUST app !

  • Hi @mcgyver‌47,

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. If I'm understanding this correctly, I think the problem is that Chrome profiles automatically sync extensions to one another. What I would recommend in this case is that you create a new "user" in Chrome for the Snow Leopard Mac, and in this new user, don't sign in to your Google account. If it's not attached to the same account as the other machines running Chrome it shouldn't automatically sync and update.

Another option would be to use a different browser on that Snow Leopard machine, such as Firefox or Safari. As far as I know, Safari doesn't do syncing of extensions so it should leave well enough alone on that Mac for you.

    I hope this helps

    Rick
