Username and Password not being filled

Hello,
Please advise.

On my iphone 5s, ios 8.1.1, using 1Password lates Pro version.
For some reason 1password's browser is not auto filling the username and password for most websites including www.agilebits.com

If I go to www.1and1.com or www.agilebits.com through 1password browser then the username and password is not being filled but if I open the Safari browser going to www.1and1.com then via the integrated shortcut if I click on 1password then it does fill in.
It seems that the 1password browser doesn't want to fill login details for most websites.

I have tried all kind of settings but no luck.

Also I have changed the Browser's User Agent no luck, clear, animated fill in On and Off.

I have rebooted my device several time.

Deleted the app and reinstalled.

And yes the login domain and details are correct because they do work via Safari browser, via the shortcut.

Thank you

    Hi @naar,

Are you manually entering the URL in 1Browser? If so, you will need to tap the "key" icon at the bottom, and choose your Login item to have your login credentials filled on that site.

Alternately, go to the Categories section in 1Password and find your Login item for the site, then tap on the URL to open that site in 1Browser. It should also fill your login info.

    Hi Drew,
    Thank you for your reply.

Below is exactly what its not doing:

"Alternately, go to the Categories section in 1Password and find your Login item for the site, then tap on the URL to open that site in 1Browser. It should also fill your login info."

    Thanks

    Hi @naar,

That's strange, it seems to be working correctly for me with both sites you mentioned. However, please note that on both of those sites, once you open them you will need to tap on a "Sign In" or "Login" link first. That will take you to the page with the actual login form. If your username & password aren't automatically filled into those forms, please tap the "key" icon at the bottom and choose your Login item from the list. What happens when you do that?

If it still won't fill your login credentials, please view the Login item for each of those sites. What is the exact URL in the website field for each of those? Here's what I have in mine:

    AgileBits forums: https://discussions.agilebits.com/

1&1: https://www.1and1.com/login?__lf=Static&linkId=hd.nav.login (I also tried just www.1and1.com and that worked as well)

If you have something slightly different in the website field, you can try adding the appropriate link I listed above as an additional website field and see if that works. Let us know how it all goes!

    Hi Drew,

    Thank you for your reply.

I have tried to add different type of urls and the of course the exact login url but login details are not being filled automatically.

If I click on the url it does take me to the login page without filling it the login details, but then if I click on the Key it will present me with all my other logins which I have setup for multiple accounts which are all using the same login link, to be precise the 1and1.com login page.

I was under the impression that if I add a login item, login username and password, login link and if I click on that link it should take me to the login page and the details are automatically filled ( even though the same login link is used for other login items ) is that correct or have I understood this wrong?

    Thanks

    Hi @naar,

If I click on the url it does take me to the login page without filling it the login details, but then if I click on the Key it will present me with all my other logins which I have setup for multiple accounts which are all using the same login link, to be precise the 1and1.com login page.

When you tap the key icon and see a list of your Login items for 1and1.com, what happens when you select one?

I was under the impression that if I add a login item, login username and password, login link and if I click on that link it should take me to the login page and the details are automatically filled ( even though the same login link is used for other login items ) is that correct or have I understood this wrong?

You're correct, that's how it should work. And in my own testing, it works correctly with the direct URL for the login pages of those sites. I'm not sure why it isn't working for you, but if you can let me know if the filling works once you select a login from the key icon, that might help us to narrow down the cause of the problem.

Also, you previously mentioned that you've tried changing the User Agent setting for 1Browser. I've been testing with 1Browser as the User Agent, so you should make sure that's the same setting for you (in case it makes a difference).

    Thank you for your reply.

If I click on the login url from within the login item then the page opens and of course the details are not filled in, I tap the key icon and then I am presented with the list of all my other logins (clients) for that url (example 1and1.com). I have a list of 100 logins for 1and1.com and this is a great inconvenience to go through the list.

And yes if I have selected the correct login from the list by taping the key then the details are being filled correctly and I am able to login as well.

I have tried all kind of user agents.

    thanks

  • Hello @naar,

I'm looking into your issue and trying to reproduce it. I'm also using an iPhone 5s, though now am using iOS 8.1.2. I have a couple of questions about your networking setup:

    1. Do you use a proxy or VPN on your network?
    2. Does it happen on both WiFi and cellular data?

The reason I ask is that sometimes some network administrators can alter or delay javascript loading in web requests for various reasons. If this is happening here, it could be blocking 1Password from seeing the fields the first time the page request is made. Testing on cellular data without VPN or Proxy would confirm or eliminate that possibility.
