Migrating from web store version to App store version
I purchased 1Password 5 from Agilebits webstore. I now want to migrate to the AppStore version, but it says I have to purchase again.
Is this correct?

Yes, you can't transfer to the AgileBits web store version licence to the Mac App Store version. When did you buy the AgileBits store version? You may be able to obtain a refund from AgileBits if the purchase was in the last 30 days.

Unfortunately, Stephen_C is correct here. Apple doesn't provide a way for us to migrate a license from our store to the Mac App Store. I took a look in our back office records and found a 1Password license attached to the email address you've used for your forum account. Unfortunately, this license was purchased too long ago for us to be able to refund your purchase.

The only difference between the two is iCloud sync and that difference is only because Apple have restricted access to certain iCloud frameworks to those applications sold through their stores.
Now iCloud sync allows you to sync the primary vault between Apple devices only. It does mean you don't need a service running to perform the sync (well there's a service running, it's just it's present already on all machines and iOS devices). The advantage of Dropbox is it allows synchronisation between different platforms other that just Apple, it works across more versions of 1Password and it allows synchronisation of secondary vaults too.
Syncing method choice seems to be quite a personal thing so you may simply not want to use Dropbox but I thought I'd throw that out there - it may be you don't need the MAS version?
