Do you store the data? If so, what if you go out of business?

Good morning

I have been looking for an app like yours for our business. We have several employees who would share passwords to client sites, as well as some of us would want to store our personal info. Do you keep our database in the cloud? If so, can we download a copy of it to our servers, in the event you go out of business?

The 1Password database is not stored in the Cloud. It is kept on your device—unless of course you choose to sync to a Mac or PC using iCloud (Macs only) or Dropbox, in which case the data passes through the Cloud (if you see what I mean!).

One of the great attractions of 1Password, for me, is that nobody else holds my private data—only me. I sync 1Password on my Mac with 1Password on my iPhone and iPad using local wifi sync so my 1Password data never goes outside my control.

It should also be pointed out that 1Password does not require registering or activating an account before you can actually work with the program.

At least one other now-defunct password manager has both a time-bombed trial and requires (now impossible) activation. And another has no ability to do much of anything if you cannot log into their web server. So this is an important factor users should consider. 1Password does not have these fatal limitations.

Thanks for the answers. One further question ... can our whole team share a vault (I think that's what AgileBits calls it) even though some are Windows, some Mac OSX, some iOS and some Android?
