Problematic Page Form
Hi,
I'm trying to save this page form as I use it regularly and don't like to go hunting around for all the account details each time, however 1P does not auto save a login for it and I have trouble when creating one manually as suggested here: https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-mac-kb/4/en/topic/saving-a-login-manually - firstly the help page is misleading as there is no gear icon on my browser extension, and even then when I found it the CMD-N function does nothing. Otherwise, when creating one manually in 1P I could not add any more than one web form field.
The form is here and I usually select all the sections to complete: https://www.goodenergy.co.uk/meter_readings
Please advise.
Thanks
Simon

Hi @simonjames
If memory serves me correctly the icon changed depending on whether or not you had multiple vaults so I can understand your confusion there. Certainly I know the icon is always a cog now in 1Password 5. Ignoring the ⌘N shortcut for the moment, clicking on the option Save new Login (see below)
yields me the following window (again, see below). Are you saying that isn't happening for you?
This will record all the fields at the time of saving. When I did this for the URL you supplied I could get it to save my meter type, the Your details section and the account and serial number for the meter reading section, the bits I believe would remain static between usage. I then edited the Login item and set it to Never submit as you will want the opportunity to enter your meter readings. That sounds like what you want to do if I'm not mistaken.
Let us know if that helps.

Hi Littlebobbytables,
I was not getting any response to the 'save new login' command previously but on revisiting the page and trying again it is now popping up the 'save login' dialogue, so that's good! :)
I'll have to repopulate the static data though as I closed the form since then :( but maybe I'll just wait till next time.
Thanks for the explanation too as I understand better what the 'never submit' option is for.0 -
Hi @simonjames
If you have any further questions or issues do please post back here and we'll do our best to help
I've only been with AgileBits a very short time and I was a customer for far longer. I do genuinely believe that once you begin to get a feel for how it works it's a fantastic program and even if 1Password isn't the perfect fit for you, no matter which one you pick I do believe a password manager should be deemed indispensable by everyone. I hope 1Password serves you well and we're always here if need be.
