Need to keep reinstalling 1Password extension in Safari
Whenever I restart Safari, I need to reinstall 1PW browser extension. OS 10.10.1., 1PW5. New behavior for my machine. Enable 1 Password is checked in Safari preferences extensions panel. What am I missing?
Can't Customer Service just post their email so I can ask the above question about the product I purchased? I don't want to have to check back here for an answer.

Hi @jkcurto
The reason why we're encouraging users to use the forums is ever since iOS 8 and Yosemite we've had a deluge of support requests. If we relied on just email people may not receive a response in any sort of timely fashion or even close to it. The spike in support requests has been huge. The forums will hopefully give us an advantage, somebody may come to answer a question and find the answer is already here and a single response may help multiple people, something not possible with email only support. We're encouraging use of the forums in a bid to ensure we don't keep people waiting.
Your forum notifications can be altered too so you don't have to routinely check back. If you click on your username at the top of any forum page you will be taken to a page with a EDIT PROFILE button roughly in the top right hand corner of the page. From there you can edit your Notification Preferences and adjust the following to suit your needs.
You may find either the Notify me when people comment on my discussions. or Notify me when people mention me. options handy.
Now back to your query.
Have you tried uninstalling the 1Password extension completely, rebooting your machine and installing a fresh copy?
If that doesn't work can I ask, is it happening with any other extensions that you may or may not have present?
If you can let us know who that goes and if need be we will continue the troubleshooting process.

Thanks for explaining how to set notifications prefs.
Uninstalling 1PW (used AppZapper) and reinstalling did not solve problem of having to reinstall Safari preferences each time I restart Safari. This was not a problem as recently as last week.

HI @jkcurto I apologise for the confusion, Uninstalling the 1Password application won't have any effect on the 1Password extension - they are completely separate.
What I was wanting you to try was to uninstall just the 1Password extension which you can do by entering Safari's preferences and switching to the Extensions tab. In there you would click on the 1Password extension in the list of extensions and then use the uninstall button. I'd follow that with a reboot and then attempt to download the extension again.
If that doesn't work and as long as you aren't running too many extensions we can attempt to purge Safari of all extensions in the belief that something has become corrupted. I would just want to try the less drastic move of uninstalling just the 1Password extension first.
In general we don't recommend using an uninstaller application on 1Password in case it deletes the support folders where your vault is kept. As you can imagine having your vault deleted is less than desirable.
Please let us know how you get along.

When I open 1Password 5 and click on Preferences, right under License... , I don't see an Extensions tab. Did you mean Safari's preferences?

Every time I started Safari I had to recheck the box in its preferences dialog to Enable 1PW. Now solved. In Safari Extensions List, Access Control tab, I deleted and added back Safari app. Thanks, JasperP!
