I messed up
In late Oct. I turned on a Mac that hadn't been on for 4 months. When 1Password told me my data on Dropbox didn't match that on the computer I must have selected the wrong choice on how to fix it. I thought I was selecting the current Dropbox version but what I ended up with was wiping out many of the dropbox ver. passwords and replacing with old, wrong passwords.
I managed to fix most but not all. I have 1P backups going back to before my screwup and I have Time Machine backup or the 1P file in Dropbox but I don't want to replace ones I have made since Nov. 1st.
Is there a way to view old backups without replacing everything? I tried restoring an old 1P keychain file from Time Machine to my desktop, viewing contents, and trying to open the html file within. I got a message that some file wasn't available.

Hi @yoyo2222,
Ouch... I'm sorry to hear that you're going through this. So here is what I recommend...
- Create a new backup right now to make sure that even if we screw up we can go back to how things were before we did anything major.
- Set up a new Smart Folder by going to File > New Smart Folder...
Configure the Smart Folder to be something like this screenshot shows. Date created greater than November 1.
Hit Save. This should make all of the newer items easily accessible within this Smart Folder.
- Select all the items in this smart folder
- Use the File > Export > Selected Items... to export the items to a 1pif file.
- Restore from a backup prior to the merge.
- Import the 1pif file you exported prior to restoring the backup.
In theory you should now be in a good state where you have all your items as they were prior to the merge, plus all of the newly created items that you created after nov 1.
Let us know if this did the trick.
Rick
