Paid customer, but telling me I'm in Trial mode
When I logged into 1Pword on my MAC today (version 5 of 1Pword), for some reason it's telling me I'm in trial mode. When I go to add my License #, my mac is trying to get me to upload a file, but what you sent me when I requested my license key was a long string license #. There is no place to load that. What am I missing?

- I assume you've read the sticky at the top of the forum (I'm guessing so from what you say, but I mention it just in case.)
- I also assume you bought 1P5 from the AgileBits store (as opposed to the Mac App Store)—because the Mac App Store version doesn't require a specific licence.
- There are two possibilities if you received a licence number from AgileBits (1P5 uses a licence file). Either you did not buy 1P4 or 1P5 (which use the same licence file) from AgileBits (the upgrade from 1P3—which did use a licence number was not free) or you might possibly have a gmail address which has wantonly mangled the licence email.
After reading that, where do you think we are with your problem? :)

Perhaps this is the issue... I purchase a license to version 3.8.17 but I'm running 5. Do I need to buy a new license? In all cases, I get everything from your site.

Yes, the upgrade from 1P3 to 1P4 was not free. If you go to this page on the AgileBits site you can enter your licence number and find out the cost of upgrading via the AgileBits site.
However, there's something important of which you should be aware. 1P5 from the AgileBits site does not support iCloud sync. That is supported only by 1P5 from the Mac App Store. Both versions support sync with iOS devices by Dropbox or local wifi. However, if you're ever going to need to sync 1P on your Mac with 1P on an iOS device you must buy the Mac App Store version. Sadly, you won't be able to obtain a discount on that version.

Yes, I need 1 password on my 5 machines, my iphone, and ipad. Where should I download the correct version from? What's the URL?

The AgileBits store version is here. The Mac App Store version is available on the Mac App Store of course. You can obtain the iOS version from the iOS App Store (it is free but with an in-app purchase to enable certain Pro features).

@Stephen_C has said in his final sentence that if you want to sync Macs and iOS devices, you must buy the Mac version from the Mac App Store. That's isn't quite so, and isn't what he said in the previous sentence either. It is true that if you want to use iCloud for that purpose, you must buy from the Mac App Store. But Dropbox works fine too for syncing such devices. Dropbox works with both the version from the AgileBits and the one from the MAS. Small point of clarification.
So, if you want the the Mac version from the Mac App Store, you just login on the App Store app on your Mac with your Apple ID and search for iPassword. If you want the version from AgileBits, you would go here. That page has all the options, and a button to take you to the Mac App Store as well. Assuming you purchased your version 3 from the AgileBits Store, there is discount pricing available to you there, but not on the Mac App Store. @Stephen_C already gave you the URL to check what your discount would be.
For your iOS devices, you got to the App Store in iTunes. (Isn't it great that Apple has created such confusion by having two different App Stores?)
Once you have your licenses, you can install the software on all the devices you personal use, including all five of those Macs. You can use it on all of your iDevices too, as long as all share the same Apple ID for purchases.
Anyway, I hope that all helps. Perhaps I have misunderstood the meaning of your last question, @Scott Levitt

Off Topic for @Scott Levitt So you can ignore this comment unless you just want a little humor.
@hawkmoth LOL
@Stephen_C seems to have been affected by a little weird bug I introduced a little bit ago where I got ahead of my self as well. ;) https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/comment/167059/#Comment_167059

@hawkmoth @thightower thanks so much for the correction...and the humour. If I never see another "trial expired" post again I shall be a very happy man.
Sorry again to one and all for the error. Too many posts, too much typing, too little thought.

I predicted somewhere in these forums, when I discovered that my license didn't transfer automatically when I install version 5, that 30 days from then AgileBits would be buried with complaints from registered users about expired trial versions. So, @Stephen_C, I'm with you!

I have no idea what any of you are referring to :stuck_out_tongue:
We have had a few haven't we. I like to think we've managed to help everybody so far though!
@Scott Levitt If you have any further questions please do let us know. AgileBits do monitor and attempt to respond to every thread here, assuming all of our moderators don't beat us to the punch
