I purchased 1Password on iPhone Appstore do I need to purchase it again for the Mac?
Hi, I purchased a license for 1Password on the iPhone Appstore on 03/24/2014, and when I updated to 1Password 5 in the Mac and I am asked to buy the program as the trial has expired. I have tried
- entering my email to retrieve my passcode but it doesn't appear
- looking in the Mac Appstore to re-download from purchases but doesn't appear either.
Do I really need to purchase again the program in order to use it on my Mac?
I appreciate your help in this matter.

- 1P for iOS and 1P for Mac are two completely separate programs. If you have 1P on your phone and you want to have it on your Mac you do have to buy 1P for Mac.That is really in reply to the question in the header of your post.
- That said, it looks as though you might believe you have bought 1P5 for Mac. If you think that, did you buy from the Mac App Store (in which case you don't need any specific licence file) or direct from the AgileBits store (in which case you do need a licence file)?
I think you're simply asking what the header to your post and your final question say. If so, the answer is "yes".
As a bonus piece of information :) if you are going to buy 1P5 for Mac please remember one crucial thing. If you may ever want to use iCloud to sync your 1P data on your Mac with your 1P data on your phone you must buy from the Mac App Store. The AgileBits store version does not support iCloud sync. The Mac App Store version does. Both versions support Dropbox sync and local wifi sync.

Hi Juan,
Like Stephen said, 1Password licenses are sold per-platform, which means that you'll need to buy 1Password for each operating system that you want to use it on.
Please let us know if you have any other questions. We're always happy to help!

I have a related question. (It may already have been answered above, but I'm not sure.) I purchased 1Password Pro on iOS (iPhone) and entered some data in there. I've now downloaded 1Password for my MacBook (from the Agilebits sute) but I can't find a way to sync so I can access the passwords I entered on my phone on my MacBook. The instructions say to quit 1Password on the Mac, launch it on the phone, sync there, come back and launch it on the Mac and it should prompt me for the master password, but it doesn't do this.

How are you trying to sync (Dropbox or wifi)?

I've not paid for the Mac version, if that needs to be added. It says I have a full-function version to try for 30 days.

If you are running a trial version you must have downloaded it from the AgileBits store. The Mac App Store does not provide any trial version of 1P5. As I said above, in post #2:

You will need to buy the Mac App Store version of 1P5. Once you have done that please have a look at this knowledge base article which will tell you how to migrate from the AgileBits store version to the Mac App Store version. You must follow that procedure exactly.
