Can't add license

Trying to re-install 1Password on my mac. When I try to add my license info using the 1password drop down menu (clicking on license) the screen that appears does not allow me to cut and paste the data. The screen that appears asks me to pick a file from all of my computer files.
I got an e-mail with my license key, telling me to paste the info. How and where ? Thanks

The process you describe of cutting and pasting in a license key applied to 1Password 3. When version 4 appeared, AgileBits changed to a license file, which is the file you are now being asked to find on your computer. If you paid to upgrade from version 3 to version 4, you would have received email with a link to use to install the file automatically or to find and download it. So, either you need to find that file or ask to have it resent if you paid for your upgrade to version 4. You can ask to have it resent here. Be sure to enter the email address you used for your original purchase. If you haven't already purchased the upgrade to version 4 (version 5 is free to registered version 4 users and uses the very same license file), you should look for special upgrade pricing on the AgileBits web store, here, where you would enter that version 3 key you are familiar with to calculate your discount.

    Thanks @hawkmoth!

@digger, hopefully that was helpful for you, but please let us know if you have more questions about the license. Thanks!
