Dear agilebits-team,

Im currently using 1Password for Mac version 5.1.BETA-21 (510021). My Mac OS version is: 10.10.1

In 1Password for Mac settings in sync category there is no iCloud sync offered to me. I would like to send you a screenshot cause this situation might sound very weird to you, at least it does to me :-) So can you tell me an e-maiul address please which I can use to send you some screenshots?

Thanks

You can attach screenshots directly to forum posts here, if you like. Use the drop down menu just above the text entry box.

Are you currently using Dropbox sync? If so, you'll need to disable that before you'll see the options for other sync methods. And, if your lines was purchased directly from the AgileBits web store, iCloud is no longer available because Apple made the CloudKit protocol available only to applications purchased from the Mac App Store.

Edit: I now see that you are using a beta version, which is only available from AgileBits. So iCloud sync won't be available to you.

Thanks a lot for your lightning fast reply hawk :-) Oh, I see, is there any way I can "downgrade" from a beta version to a version which offers iCloud sync?

    Thanks again!

I have the following idea in my mind, please let me know if there is any mistake in it. I will wifi sync between my iPhone and Mac so the 1Password for iOS is up to date. Then I will delete the current 1Password for Mac version and download a non-beta version. Then I will sync via iCloud and the Mac version of 1Password should get all my data from its iOS counterpart, right :-)?

Just finished installing Version 5.0.2 (502007). There is still no iCloud sync available, only dropbox which is not activated, Wifi-sync and an option to choose a folder. Hope you can help me, thanks in advance :-)

It sounds like you are using the website version of 1Password. Hawkmoth was also was seeing that same issue.

iCloud would discontinued in the website version of 1Password. The only way to re enable it is to purchase from the Mac App Store. If you purchased from the AgileBits store during the last 30 days you are possibly eligible for a refund. At which time that refund can be used to purchase 1Password from the Mac App Store.

Thanks for your reply thightower! Thats correct, I purchased my 1Password license through your website instead of the Mac App Store, this is months ago, so I likely won't qualify for a refund. I guess there is nothing you can do at this point, right?

    Hi @W0rldTrav3l3r‌

What you've been told so far is correct. As of 1Password 5 our Web Store version of 1Password has been cut off from syncing with iCloud. It comes down to Apple's decision to restrict access to the likes of CloudKit to applications sold through their store. This is why the MAS version of 1Password continues to include support.

Unfortunately there is no way to migrate users to the MAS version as Apple don't offer such a feature. Would you consider Dropbox an acceptable alternative to iCloud Sync? It works in a similar way to iCloud but also allows synchronisation with Windows and Android devices as well as the ability to sync secondary vaults (not possible with iCloud). Now my findings are people have strong opinions on their sync method of choice but I thought I would ask.
