trial ended

Hi. I bought Password 5 for mac and downloaded it (several times). The logins still say "trial ended". I tried to add a license. The instructions say add a license but when I click on it it asks me to click on the file with my license. Password 5 is in my download file and my license number is in my email. The dropdown does not highlight the 1Password sitting in my downloads. There is no place to add the license number. I can't access it through your instructed method. Please help.

Let's take this a little slowly. The first question is whether you've read the sticky at the top of the forum. (Please excuse the question if you have but it's not clear from your post.)

The next point to make is that if you bought 1P for Mac from the Mac App Store you don't need a licence file, so I'm assuming you bought direct from the AgileBits store. Is that correct? If you did, are you quite sure you bought 1P4 or 1P5? If you paid only for 1P3 the upgrade to 1P4 was paid, not free. The reason I ask specifically is because 1P4 and 1P5 from the AgileBits store require a licence file and not a licence number. 1P3 required a licence number.

Does any of this help to resolve your problem? If not please post again.

    Hi @kurlykate‌

From our records it seems you purchased our Mac + Windows bundle. That means we needed to supply you both a licence key for 1Password 4 for Windows and a link to download a licence file for 1Password 5 for Mac.

If you check the email again, is there a link for downloading a licence file as well as the key?

Please do let us know how you get along.

Yep. I bought the bundle. I got the file in an email. I downloaded it. The Trial Ended is still showing when I use 1Password. The instructions say open 1Password, click on 1Password, click on license, click on add a license. The drop down menu shows 1Password but the dropdown does not highlight the 1Password sitting in my applications. There is no place to add the license number. I can't access it through your instructed method. Please help.

  • @kurlykate‌ Please look over this guide for adding a license file. You will need to download the license file (the app itself is not the license file) and apply it. The file will end with .onepassword-license. You should be able to re-download the license from your emailed license info.

The guide above is illustrated and will walk you through step by step.

    Hi there,
The file I got via email had the following?

    Name: Kate Lunceford
    Key: XXXXXXXXXXXX4DAB ETC.
    Download: https://agilebits.com/downloads
Register: Select 1Password > License… and paste the above information.

I downloaded 1Password5 via the link in the email. The only file I have on my computer is in applications. It says 1Password5. I followed the directions you just provided (4 or 5 times) before. I click on 1Password5, license, add license. The drop down menu shows 1Password5 but the dropdown does not highlight the 1Password5 sitting in my applications so I can't select it. I searched for license on my computer but there is no match. There is no place to add the key. I can't access it through your instructed method. Please help.

    Hi @kurlykate,

I had a look at your account and I believe you're using details from your 2011 1Password purchase. I've resent you your 2014 license details, please check your email for that. Click the link in that email that says "No link? Link not working? View the complete installation steps."

That will take you to your license page where you'll see a section that looks like this:

Just click the shiny blue button on that link, this will download your License file to your web browser's default downloads folder. Double click the file and 1Password will process the registration. If not, choose 1Password > License… from the menu bar and choose Add License.

    Hi @kurlykate‌

The email you received should have detailed two purchases and the snippet you displayed was for an older purchase. Was there another entry below that one in the email?

You're looking for a line that reads

Register: With 1Password downloaded, click here to automatically add your license
