Do I have to be running Yosemite to purchase a 1Password license?

I would like to purchase a license to 1Password on my Mac and iPhone but I am not yet running Yosemite. Is it possible to buy and use 1Password using OSX 10.9.5 or does 1Password insist that I upgrade to Yosemite?

    No. The license works on 1PW4 and 1PW5, and 1PW4 can be downloaded from a link further down on the downloads page.

    That's assuming you buy from the web site. If you want to use iCloud sync (as distinct from Dropbox or other methods) you need the App Store version, and I am not sure if 1PW4 is available from the App Store.

    How is it possible to buy a license to 1Password 4? I don't see any way to do that in the store here:

    We no longer sell 1Password 4 for Mac, but 1Password 5 for Mac licenses will work with 1Password 4 for Mac.
